I like Ultrawide 1440p but would probably trade my monitor in for a nice 1440p 144hz IPS panel at this point.

There are several 'numbers' on the back of the xbox, are you sure it was the right one?Ottosmann

The Serial Number is listed in three different places on the 360, 2 times in the back and once in the USB area, and yes according to Microsoft it's the number they are looking for.

As far as I am concerned, this is a problem on their side moreso than mine, afterall they're the ones that assign Serial Numbers (atleast I think they do)

I just got the RRoD but when I go to register my 360 it says Serial Number doesn't exist, making it unregisterable. Has anyone else had this problem? Even Microsoft is baffled, and I'm waiting for the supervisor to call me back.

My 360 is from November 2006 and I got it through ebgames, so it should be the real deal...

Inc weeks of talking to people to get nowhere :(

Although I only play it on 1280x1024 (highest my monitor can go), I honestly get no lag whatsoever and I just finished my new rig. I play it on High settings with 4x AA and my rig is able to haul through it.

I'm running q6600 quad core (not overclocked), new 8800 GTS 512, 4 gigs of ram and no SLI. The game seems pretty good to me. It's not that much of a joke considering I only had to spend about 1k to upgrade to a system that can run this game that well.

How's that PSU?

Thinker_145

It should be a piece of ****.I mean it does have 38amps but 600 watt PSU for $55???

I've actually got that PSU and it's pretty damn good. Just because it's cheaper doesn't necessarily mean it's bad.

Calm down tiger, it ain't that serious. The proof? Like you said, they've already stated what happened, there's my proof right there. Now let's see yours... wait for it... still waiting, oh that's right it doesn't exist yet. Your baseless attacks are just that, baseless. You think you know what's going on, you don't.

SanSui

I really don't understand how you can continue to be so dense.I have no problem agreeing that Jeff was not fired for Kane and Lynch. I'm sure he was not fired for any one or any couple of games, and that's not what I'm arguing. It is, on the other hand, very easy to believe that he was fired for using harsh language and tone on numerous games that FULLY EXPRESSED his opinion and criticisms. It has been officially and factually confirmed that numerous advertisers have placed pressure on Gamespot and other review sites to change wording or scores, and that displeasure has the immediate implication of advertising support, whether it is said or not.

You don't work for Gamespot, I doubt you work for CNET or even the Government. Lying is such a strong word, I'd like you to prove it if you're going to assume it.biowulf

Oh geeze. You apparently don't keep up with the news.... do I really have to explain how many times Bush has lied to us? If you really want, I will send you web pages where you can find fully documented occasions explaining the exact lies and circumstances. I mean, is it really necessary for me to tell you that politicians lie to us? I don't work for CNet, nor do I work for any large corporation anymore. I work in small business, a much nicer place than corporate america. How young are you? I'm assuming you're probably not quite out of college yet if you're idealistic enough to believe the first pass of a spin machine.

Profit is a big part of every company, that's how they operate. I've been around Gamespot long enough to see games come and go with the same fashion, big advertising campaign, crappy review and I've never seen anyone even of a lesser stature than Jeff relinquished of their duty. To say that this one decides to set a precedent is simply ignorant and kind of funny.
biowulf

That's exactly why this is a big deal. Why Jeff, why now, why the circumstances? There is a reason that organizations like CBSexplain dismissal of journalists/news icons etc - offering transparencyallows them to maintaintheir credibility. It's obvious that CNet execs don't consider game journalism to be real news, hence the way they handled this. If they had respected their consumer base or the industry at all, they would have done it completely differently. Just knowing the contempt they have for us and for gamespot, treating Jeff like a number, and gamespot like it really isn't a news/media outlet, really makes me pissed off.

So please, continue to rant and rave about this issue when you are just a chicken running around with its head cut off. You say put 2 and 2 together, well how about you put two and two together and read the objects presented without a clear bias towards gamespot and maybe you'll lighten up.biowulf

Learn to stand up for yourself. People like you are the reason people like Bush are in power. The reason why very basic liberties like freedom of speech are being threatened right now.

And if you hate Gamespot so much which it seems you do, just leave, it's not like you're doing anything here but flooding the information people like me want to read with utter crap. biowulf

There is only one thread on the Jeff Gerstmann termination topic. One thread, and we have kept ourselves to it. If you don't want to read this "utter crap", you can easily avoid this ONE THREAD and go read about how awesome the Wii is. (I actually find it pretty awesome, despite wanting to hate it. Damn nintendo for making a good product)

The irony of it all is that you my good friend are the one not standing up for yourself, rather you're joining the masses and trying to dismantle the establishment henceforth known as Gamespot and or CNet. You preach government and civil rights that don't apply to you on this website or anyone else for that matter. I'm standing up for what I solely believe, similar to you, only I have reinforcements as to why my opinions hold ground where as you do not.

You're right that this is the only thread on this topic, yet if you read the actual topic, it's a discussion not a sympathy thread. You can post your crazed conspiracies if you want, but if you're going to simply negate all evidence proving otherwise then you need to re-evaluate yourself, seriously.

I'm not going to bother arguing with you seeing as every reply you have now leaves the impression that you're foaming at the mouth banging your keyboard as hard as you can. You've even resorted to bringing in meaningless arguments such as things that hold no value such as your discontent towards Bush (which whom I did not vote for and do not agree with).

Take a break from the site, calm down a little, and come back when you don't have a vendetta against life.

;)

[QUOTE="biowulf"]You have no idea what you're talking about, but the funny thing is, I have proof of what I'm talking about. You wan't to claim they're lying to you, prove it, it's that simple. Until then you're just another "ZOMGZ CONSPIRACY!" loser that tends to flock along side of every other incompetent and ignorant person on this site. SanSui

Orly? Please do tell what proof you have, as apparently you have the answers that no one else has. In case you don't understand how the system works, let me break it down for you.

The government is lying to you.

The corporations are lying to you.

CNet is lying to you.

The only way to get the truth is to stick up for yourself, use your brains, put 2 and 2 together and DEMAND the truth. In this situation, 2 and 2 is the fact that Gamespot is under new executive management, and a longtime PROVEN journalist/editor of Gamespot was sacked after an internal review by said management.

The latest podcast only confirms that they are still pissed off themselves about the situation, far more than we could ever be. In their attempt to calm us, it is more apparent than ever that they are not satisfied with how it went down - how could we possibly be soothed by that? Gamespot staff have also confirmed the veracity of the anonymous tipster that explained the meeting in which Josh Larson tried to explain why Jeff was fired, and cited references of "tone" etc. How frigging dumb do you have to be to think that CNet corporate isn't trying to squeeze additional profit out of this place by removing the leading powers and installing a more advertiser friendly staff.
