@ArchoNils2 I don't think Ubisoft understands how PCs work. Someone should give them a manual.

@Buckhannah @youre_a_sheep Yeah, I think Capcom needs to make money without takin' a risk. This remake seems to me like a safe bet. They don't have to invest huge amounts of money, since the game has already been made. They just have to polish it. Well, they won't get rich with this one, but I think a profit is guaranteed.

But why doesn't Capcom invest in the development of a new entry into the RE franchise? I don't think Capcom dares to develop a completely new Resident Evil game, because they got the same problem like so many other Japanese game developers as well. They try to please their western audience, but they don't understand what the average western gamer likes to play.

If you're a game publisher then you want to be successful in the region with the highest profits: the west. But what if you don't care about western games? What if you don't understand why so many people play Call of Duty, Battlefield, Gears of War and Uncharted? Then you have to dissect those games. Look at their single parts and try to copy those for your own upcoming games. If you act like that, failure is inevitable.

Let's make a Final Fantasy for the western audience. What do they like to play? Fast paced action games. Well, then let's give them exactly that.

How a about a new Resident Evil? What does the west play at the moment? A lot of online-shooters. Right now they enjoy something called co-op. If it's co-op they want then it's co-op they'll get.

My dear Japanese publishers and developers, don't try to be something you're not. We don't want you to be bad copies of our well known western companies. Be unique! Be yourselves! Look how well From Software and Kojima Productions are doin'. We welcome them with open arms, because we know they will deliver something we won't get from other developers. And if you consider that Nintendo develops unique games and they still are far from being successful, I assure you the reason for that doesn't lie within their games, it's their stillborn console called WiiU.

@dannydopamine8 @Dannystaples14 Since PC and consoles are now over thirty years old, I guess you're right, when you say that Infinity Blade has better graphics than most PC/console games combined. I guess this counts for the first Halo as well, but it's still a solid argument.

What? Microsoft didn't improve the power of the Xbox One? But they wouldn't lie to us, now would they? I'm still convinced that my Xbox One needs Kinect to keep its functionality. LOL!!!

Wow, Sony! Are you serious with those charges for your Playstation Now service? I mean, if we would talk about recently published games, alright. But for those old shelf huggers? Man, you're gettin' kinda greedy, huh?

@xneonic It would be the smart thing to do. Nintendo would be making more money, if they became a third party publisher. But Nintendo is a very traditional Japanese company, and they stick to their well known business procedures as long as they can endure them. Nintendo is very rich. They could lose money for years and years and still they wouldn't go out of business. Maybe we will see a change of business strategies, when Nintendo has to fight for its survival. But to see that, there would have to be a lot of screw-ups and lot of time to pass by.

@rolla020980 I expect the publishers to ignore Chinese guidelines and specific habits of playing games in China, because piracy is such a big issue in China so that their legitimate software market won't make enough profit to redirect the attention of the publishers from the western market to the Chinese market. The WiiU is available for quite some time in China and no one cares, because they pirate the sh#t outta that console.

If the Chinese government would pass copyright laws on software so that the intellectual property of the publishers was protected, the publishers would swarm on China like flies on you know what, and a global change in the ways how to play games and how to present them would be the logical consequence.

But until then, no one cares about China.
