I can't get rid of my old consoles. There are reasons why I have to keep them all:
PSP: Just for The Silent Hill Experience. That's reason enough.
Playstation 3: There are still great games coming out. Persona 5, hurry up!!!
Xbox 360: Sounds like a sawmill. Reminds me of Twin Peaks. Best TV-show ever.
Wii: So great to see drunk people play tennis.
Playstation 2: I need that one to maximize everything in Disgaea to the highest level. It will take me something like 30,000 years, but I'm optimistic.
Dreamcast: Shenmue and the best versions of Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Shadowman.
Nintendo 64: Great for Halloween. It creates a really spooky fog.
Playstation 1: You see stuff on that console you've never seen before. First-person-platformers and FPS with bitmap-graphics based on photos.
Neo Geo: Huge cartridges, huge controllers, heaven for beat'em-up-fans.
Super NES: Best console ever.

I think it's a good sign that Twitch was bought by Amazon instead of Google. Amazon is not known to be as ruthless concerning the dissection of our personal data as the information hoarder Google is.
@GunEye Yeah, there player has some issues from time to time. Though I hadn't had any problems with their news show yet. Try turning the quality from automatic to whatever you like. Sometimes it helps.
How could it help a franchise to reach less gamers? Why do those executives always have to rub that PR-BS in our faces? If you won't be honest, just shut the hell up!
I hope you don't mind that I come up with some corrections concerning Resident Evil.
It's not true that the original Resident Evil came out on Playstation exclusively. There was a version for Sega's Saturn as well...okay, I guess no one played that one.
Also the Gamecube remake of the first Resident Evil came out as a specified version for the Wii. So, you could say that was already the reremake. I suppose this means we're gonna get a rereremake in 2015.
@vitanuovamalice Right now Evolve is very hyped. They had a very successful presentation at E3, which leads to the conclusion that it will sell pretty well. Since the publisher is no fool, he realizes that the ratio of potential customers to the estimates of new generation consoles sold in 2014 does not benefit his interests. In other words: The publisher waits until there is a sufficient number of consoles sold, so that his profit will be even higher. Of course there will be more PS4s and XboxOnes sold in 2015 than in 2014. If the game would be published in 2014 less customers would care about it, when they buy one of the new consoles in 2015. Because in 2015 a lot of big budget games will come out and redirect the focus from the "old" Evolve unto them.
The publisher knows that Evolve is able to compete against the other upcoming games in 2015. So he smells more money with a larger market waiting for him in the next year.
