Here's the best advice you'll get all day. Trash your 2600 and buy a 5200. :)

[QUOTE="asherlin77"]And no.........Melee is not a true fighter. It's Powerstone reprogrammed with Nintendo characters.Cesar_Barba
Fanboy much? You're in the gamespot forums, the very website that has Melee under the fighter category. System wars, this forum is not. Oh please, Smash Bros. is a fighting game, the fact that you may not like it is something else though. Also, Super Smash Bros. was out before Power Stone, so if anything..... Well, you get my drift.
The Genesis also had many of those games that SNES had. Fighting games never died, they are still coming out, the fact that there are not as many as there used to be (thank goodness for that) is entirely something else. I remember going to the arcade and constantly there would be a new fighting game, a whole bunch of them were not worth the 2 bits it cost to play them.

Hate Melee? I own all of them. Fighter? No.......it's not. It's an entirely different animal. Fatal Fury is a fighter.

[QUOTE="Silent-Hal"]Gear Solid fans, not European gamers in general. I'm well aware that other companies don't screw us over.Threesixtyci

Heh okay then... well correct me if I'm wrong but did you or did you not get the enhanced version of MGS3 before we did?

Did you have buy MGS3 twice to get the enhanced stuff, via the added name of Subsistence?, So... who got screwed over, really, then? It all depends on how you look at it....

It's already been released in Japan for a year or two. Get their version.asherlin77

Umm... how is that going to help? It's still going to be region locked, I'm sure. Whether it be from NTSC Japan or NTSC America.

Whatever. I thought JPN was PAL.

Nintendo killed the fighting genre.

Nintendo was the flagship console that brought the Street Fighter world-craze to our homes. Upon that foundation grew an entire franchise of out of this world entertainment. Games like Mortal Kombat, Tekken, and Dead or Alive owe their roots to the popularity of Nintendo bringing the arcade fighting genre to kid's homes...even Neo Geo owes that to Nintendo for hosting the Street Fighter series and creating a fanbase for SNK titles.

Bearing this responsibility, Nintendo was charged with carrying the torch for the genre to the next generation. Did they? No. With N64 they vomited out FPS's and racing games. Even the Gamecube only hosted 2 poorly designed Mortal Kombat games and again no Street Fighters or SNK faves (except for Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO which was secretly released at the end of its lifetime).

Thankfully, consoles like Dreamcast, Saturn, and Playstation gave homes to these orphaned, yet once worshipped titles. Now in 2008 with games like Street Fighter IV, King of Fighters XII, Samurai Shodown Edge of Destiny, and others, we see fans of old demanding to be served what once ignited the flames of their video game cravings. I'm sure Wii will jump on the bandwagon when these new titles hit.......but I hope the publishers refuse rights to them as retribution from old.

And no.........Melee is not a true fighter. It's Powerstone reprogrammed with Nintendo characters.

1) Baseball Simulator 1.000

2) Tecmo Super Bowl

3) Ken Griffey Baseball and Ken Griffeys winning run

4) Tecmo Superbowl III. ( still play this every now and then)

5)Street Fighter II

oldschoolplayer

That is the worst top 5 list I've ever seen. Even SFII can't redeem it.
