hello, to be honest I have never used the Skype function on the PSVita, but i would imagine he would be able to receive incoming skype calls whilst in standby mode-I get email notifications this way. As for playing video/games along side, he may have to close the game he is playing in order to skype. dont see this as a massive deal tbh but it certainly wont work like the XboxOne snap function.
PsP games I find work very well on the vita and I much prefer them, having said that, vita games are much better on the vita (surprise surprise) and i'd save my money for them. there are plenty of great games out there for it now

I don't know what they would do for U.S. pricing, but as of right now $499 Euros = $659.08 USD, and in the U.S. you can buy a PS4 for $400, a DS4 for $60, a camera for $60, and KZSF for $60, that would be a total of $580 USD, I'm not sure if the tax is included in the $499 price, but just in case it is, I'll ad tax from where I live which is 10% which would = another $58, so with 10% tax there would be a grand total of $638 USD if everything was bought on its own.
So is there something I'm missing here? Or do people in Europe just have to pay more then people in the U.S.?
