Lets not forget this is 2 gfx cards in one, so really you have to pay attention to the Geforce GTX 280 sli results. Im sure Nvidia will release a Geforce GTX 280 x2 in the not too distant future, then adjust prices as they normally do

Nice card, seems about 80-90% faster than previous best 8800/9800gtx from benchmarks ive seen here and on other sites, ok the price is steep but you can always go for the next model down (260gtx) as this is still much faster than a 8800gtx by about 60-70% infact. Oh and for those people moaning that this costs too much the answer is simple... dont get one... instead look on ebay for 8800gtx instead, there will be plenty of bargains to be found as people upgrade. Probably wont be long till i sell mine on there :)

Ha HA HA HAAA!!! I love all the arguing over whos card is better than who's :) Ive switched from nvidia to ati and now im back to nvidia. Personally i've found nvidia to have the edge over ati, cant quite put my finger on why but games just seem to look that tiny bit better on nvidia. Its as thought they display more colours or something (I know thats probably not the case but thats how it seems) Anyway im very happy with my Quad core processor and 8800gtx setup but for good measure ive just bought a ps3 and my 42" 1080p Plasma turns up tomorrow!!! oh happy days!!!!

Oh and just remember how crytek continued to refine farcry after release, with patches that optimized and even dramatically imroved visuals via HDR lighting added months perhaps even a year??? after initial release. So if your worried about running it maybe wait for a patch or 2 until u buy

i got a quad core Q6600 G0 stepping oc'd to 3.3Ghz Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit Abit IP35 Pro (Socket 775) Mobo' X-fi Fatal1ty 64MB soundcard. I have a dual boot system and have this game installed on both windows xp and vista and i prefer to play this in windows xp as i can play this at 1440x900 (native) with all gfx on high plus 4xAA (can put it higher but i notice very very slight mouse lag). In vista (DX10) i have to drop the AA completely to get as smooth gameplay. TIP FOR VISTA: in vista's game menu right click on crysis and select 'play in DX9' you wont be able to select very high settings but the fps will improve noticeably, almost as good as playing in xp. Oh and the game is still playable using V high settings either in vista or XP by using the hack but it shows some signs of struggle in various place, esp' in 2nd half of game which is more taxing

I recently converted from amd to intel with a Q6600 g0 stepping processor, i was a bit worried that these new amd processors would make me regret that decision but thankfully it looks like i still have the best value proceesor money can buy right now. Just for the record th Q6600 runs @ 2.4Ghz stock, but overclocks to 3Ghz without any changes to voltages and now mine is running @ 3.4Ghz by tweaking ram and vcore voltage, Completely stable and all on STOCK AIRCOOLING!! and i still feel there is more power to be ssqueezed out if needed. So for now stick with intel (something i never thought id say a couple of years ago)

You cant fully appreciate the differences from a still shot, Post processing effects and things like bump mapping and reflections and even HDR cant be portrade well from a still. Oh and people, turn off FSAA you certainly wont need it if your running with post processing effects on high+ as this seems to vastly reduce jaggies (even on medium jaggies are hardly a problem for me)

Vista 32bit 8800gtx, athlon64x2 4600+, 2gb ocz ram, X-fi fatal1ty 64Mb sound card 1440x900 display Runs very smooth and looks better than anything else ive seen using just medium settings (easily beats call of duty 4 gfx) It makes me laugh reading people say 'I cant run it on its highest settings therefore its crap...etc) The game was designed to be scalable for pc's both 3 years in the past, and 3 years in the future. Meaning that on low settings it'll run on older hardware (single core cpu + geforce 6800) but still look and play much better than anything made 3 years ago. Medium to high settings is made for current hardware such as geforce 8800gtx with a dual core cpu and WILL look MUCH better than any current game (so quit complaining!!) And very high is reserved for the next wave of gfx cards and cpu's so the game can stand up against any other game released in the next 3 years and some!! much like the original far cry which to this day still looks stunning with HDR activated and all other settings maxed. So to people like 'Evoluicid' who say your not going to buy it in protest just because u cant run it maxed, i say fine go ahead, If you havent got the sense to turn down the settings and still have the best looking game on the market by far then dont. But when you try to show off your hardware to your mates with any other game just be prepared for them to say 'yes thats not bad but have you seen crysis' :)
