I wonder which MC incarnation they'll use as the frontperson: the male or female version? Probably male (oh the depressing predictability of seemingly-American Dream-era marketeers), but you never know.

@paopumilkshake: You and me both. I'm just seeing drama for drama's sake rather than anything more impactful. Ever since I saw those scenes with Elena, I've just lost faith in where they're going. I just thought "God, guys, can't you just put him on an adventure that doesn't threaten his marriage?" There are plenty of stories where creators can craft a coda for a character without messing up their personal life. Still, here's hoping the finished product will assuage our fears, even thought I'm not holding out that much... MY HYPE WAS ALREADY OVERLOADED BY FFXV!

This is amazing news it it proves true. Assuming Persona 5 will have released during summer, Square Enix will have a wonderful coup for the opening of the autumn gaming season. People will be refreshed and ready for Final Fantasy's return. My mind is ready, and the Goddess watches on with a smile.

@metallinatus: True, and they could market it as Fire Emblem Fates: Complete Edition. Include all three versions as a single game, up the graphics a bit, throw in a few bells and whistles... They might even try that for the Nintendo NX. That would be quite a launch title, and not need as much effort.

By the way, have you heard the recent industry rumors about FF XV and FFVII Remake coming to Nintendo NX? Probably nothing, but it would be quite a milestone after so long as PlayStation/Xbox games.

@metallinatus: I remember them saying in 2013 that they wouldn't consider a Fire Emblem for Wii U unless they could expect sales of around 700,000 units. For that platform alone. Sad, but apparently it's what they need to make a profit on such a game. Even within the typical Japanese game budget, which I heard is designed so the game will succeed in its native land without taking overseas sales into consideration.

In any case, sounds like money in the bank for Nintendo and Intelligent Systems. Another winner on their hands. Fire Emblem is here to stay.

Excited for what's on offer: The Last Story and Bravely Default are both technical and aesthetic wonders. The only problem I have is with the artwork they posted: they got Dagran, put him in knight's armor, gave him Two's sword, and bunged an adolescent Mikhail alongside him.... I know Fujisaka has a certain style, but I expect a little more originality than that. The only thing that really intrigued me was that bone dragon over his shoulder... I hope it's not just a grunt as is a crucial character.

Hey, doesn't matter that much. Either way, I'm looking forward to exploring the world, wielding the forgers of the world, and (given this game's thematic background) knocking six bells out of demigods or maybe even full-blow gods under the benevolent and unseen eye of their goddess.

My mind is ready. Bring it on!
