[QUOTE="zbdyx"]Wait, 2000-2001 doesn't count? Since when? I always thought it went 00-01 01-02 02-03 03-04 04-05 05-06 06-07 07-08 08-09 09-10 That's 10 whole yearssuper_mario_128
Year 0 didn't occur, so the first decade was: Year 1 - Year 10. Fast-forward two millennia Year 2001 - Year 2010 is this decade, so technically we have another year to go, even though technicalities should be left for pedants to cry over.

Wow...seriously? Wouldn't there be Day One, Day Two, Day Three....Day 364, Day 365, ONE YEAR?!?!? We aren't born a year old, we're born a few hours old, then we age to a few days, months and then eventually a year. My god...

[QUOTE="EMOEVOLUTION"][QUOTE="Memberino"][QUOTE="Vandalvideo"] Assuming that western society is truly correct in their belief system about women; which by the way shows terrible exceptionalism.

Well I believe that Western society's attitude to women is correct, I stand by the core belief values of freedom of choice. Can you really say you don't? I think there are far too many PC reactionists who will try to claim that everything is just as bad as everything else but you simply can't say Christianity is just as bad as Islam in my opinion. They are different religions with several big differences.

You can't really say we're a progressive nation.. that loves freedom.. when we go around the world telling other countries what to do.

Such as?

A much higher percentage are than some want to believe but I'm sure it's still the minority. At least the ones in the civilized world.

There was actually a poll done on muslim men between the ages of roughly 18-25 asking them if they were willing to die during a suicide killing for the Koran and I think about 50% said yes. If that many were willing to say yes to a poll, I can't imagine how many really would.

Who ever uses a Gampad for any online games must love getting roflstomped.. Shadowhawk000
Oh god no, I just use them for offline games where a gamepad feels more natural. Assassin's Creed, NBA 2K10, Burnout and GTA.

I play all of my games with a mouse and keyboard except for Assassin's Creed, GTA:SA, NBA 2K10 and Burnout Paradise. I could play AC and GTA just fine with a mouse and keyboard, but I suffer less fatigue while using a gamepad and prefer a little more for those games.

[QUOTE="the_one34"][QUOTE="joao_22990"][QUOTE="the_one34"] Evolution isn't random. What you've just described are mutations...evolution (mostly) depends on natural selection which is the very opposite of random.

I'm sorry, i'm not sure i follow? What aspects of natural selection are not random? As in, you can predict the winner, or as in, you can predict the contestants? I was arguing the latter was random. Of course someone with hand like us work better with tools rather than elephants, but we can't say, for example, in a distant planet a certain percentage of all life will have five finger hands with opposable thumbs. Right?

It's not random because the favourable mutations will be selected for. Natural selection doesn't select everything regardless of the phenotype, it only selects the phenotype (and ultimately, genotype) which provides a significant survival advantage. That is definitely not random. What is random is the mutation and when it happens to be beneficial (this isn't as rare as most people think), it is selected for.

I'm sorry, but i can't stay away from this one. You know when some people are born with six fingers? Or three boobs? Those are completely random. However, if having three boobs increases your chance of survival or gives you better chances of success in a certain environment, then people with three boobs would probably rule over that place. But being born with another finger or boob, besides being pretty awesome, is also completely random. And it has very low chances of ever working, mutations rarely are for the better.

But the process of evolution is not random. Natural selection favors strong mutations.
