As for levels, read the nebie post section. For specific game questions, go to the games forum & post your questions. Players who play the game will help you there.

Not many of the games use the mic to play. I can not tell you about the use of the mic in the games you mention sorry.

You will just have to read reviews of the games you might be interested in buying. Some games use both, some use only one or the other, some you can choose. That is detailed as anyone can say to the question.

Advance Wars Dual Strike is, I think the easiest of the three (not including DoR). The gameplay is very similar throughout. The only difference is that Dual Strike has new characters, new vehicles, and the new Tag Power. If you are experienced Advance Wars player, AW:DS will be pretty easy. If you are new to the game, maybe it won't be so easy. Sadly, AW:DS has no online multiplayer gameplay. However, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin has online play but DoR is the hardest of all AW games. (Personally, I haven't played Days of Ruin yet, but from the comments and reviews, its pretty difficult.) So, best not get DoR for a newbie player.

Advance Wars Dual Strike is a great game, its even more fun if you have played Advance Wars 1 and 2 before. Yeah, you should get this game - Advance Wars: Dual Strike

I agree, Dual Strike is equal to the first two GBA games with the added tag power. DoR is very much harder, & from reading posts, online play is not good because people quit when losing. So not too much fun there for online.

One game not being mentioned is Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. "The parts may seem commonplace, but Puzzle Quest's blend of RPG and puzzle-game convention makes for something refreshingly unique and dangerously addictive."

It is rated everyone & the puzzle part is a game called bejewled. Make a match of 3 same color across or up/down. It is not hard and fun to play.

I can't say if you can replace the Dpad. However, you do have a problem because we have 2 Lites & the Dpad,a,b,x,y buttons all press easy. The sensitivity of the Dpad is fine.

I play my DS several times a week. Don't worry about what the kid thinks about your playing. You do what ever you enjoy, life is to short not to have enjoyment.

Is this game ...

1. A new game ?

2. A remake of a game previously released in Japan only ?

3. A remake of a game released on an older system ?

Not sure but amazon.com has DS fat battery for sell, as well as DS Lite battery. Make sure you order the right one if you order from them.
