Mine just died after I downloaded the fall update. This sucks. It was manufactured in February of 2006, so it was nearly 2 years old.bdhoff

Same here. Except I have no idea when it was manufactured. We've only had it since the middle of August though.

I'm not impressed at all.

I was quite bemused that Assassin's Creed didn't have subtitles.

Seriously the very concept of the game is designed wherein subtitles would actually make sense within the game world. The whole Animus thing could actually have been used intelligently to explain away subtitles. After all, it's actually explained in game why your character can understand everything in English... why are subtitles a stretch?

Subtitles for a game wouldn't even be remotely as troublesome as they are with a movie or television show anyways.

I have absolutely perfect hearing, but I got used to putting captions and subtitles on things years ago. Becomes habit in an extremely noisy apartment trying to watch something quietly.

Regardless it should be made standard as it typically is in other industries.

EDIT: It was also a bit infuriating in Assassin's Creed, consdering how incredibly low the speech is sometimes. Very hard to understand, especially when you toss in a forced Arabic accent.

Oh my... Actual objective statements toward Kane & Lynch... I think I just walked into limbo...

Kane & Lynch is a pretty entertaining and fun game. If I had to arbirtrarily give it a score I'd place it in the 7-7.5 range going by Gamespot's standards. It's effectively Freedom Fighters 2. There are indeed better games out there, but it is in no way the gargabe that a lot of people are perpetuating out of some blind loyalty to a guy recently fired (which in no way has been proven to have anything to do with the game anyways).

Albeit is pretty damn short (my girlfriend and myself got through it in about 6 hours, so it would vary solo I assume) and both endings rather disappointing in their brevity.

The "Fragile Alliance" mode, which might as well have been called "Prisoner's Dilemma," is pretty cool looking. I'm surprised there hasn't been anything like that before... I wonder if I can forge/custom games up a map like that on H3?Arborescence

Ugh... Fragile Alliance could have been so incredibly better it's actually sad how limited the mode is. Aside from idiotic infrastructure issues (ask anyone what it's like to get a connection error..) it just lacks depth. And a lot of people who played it kind of didn't get the idea behind it... If there was anything to critixize the game for it's the inept way the multi-player was tossed in.

/But oh, what could have been.

You should obvious include some sort of statistic in regards to how many people who play games actually play MMORPGs. Your third and fourth question also would seemingly scew the results as there is no option for "no", implying that everyone who plays MMORPGs must at least once have had them interupt their schooling or work and/or be on their mind at a time in which it shouldn't.

Just some observations. You should definitely ask on a World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XI, Guild Wars, etc. board. As that is the direct audience for your questions, but I also suggest looking into other online games, particularly shooters. I know plenty of people consumed by stuff like Halo and Call of Duty, just as much as anyone playing an MMORPG. Plenty of Halo addicts out there that are over looked for 'addiction'.

Chief Irons in Resident Evil 2 went insane. Lynch in Kane & Lynch suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. Any smattering of "crazy" characters like Kefka would count I suppose (but not for anything academically feasible). Killer7 is built around the idea of a person having multiple personalities.

Most games don't really address mental illness, let alone in anything other than "whacky" or "kooky" ways barring perhaps Killer7.

I see the childishness on the forum still continues.

No, Kane & Lynch is not a bad game. Far from it. Most of the complaints leveled at it were extremely exaggerated and in many cases aren't even issues with the game but personal taste. It's very fun and effectively what Freedom Fighters 2 would have been. If I was to give it an arbitrary score I'd likely stick it between 7-7.5 which isn't bad by any stretch.

Besides it was almost outright proven that Gerstmann only played the first level of the game (his Gamertag and review proved it weeks ago before this hullabaloo popped up).

The game is getting unnecessarily trashed by people supporting the guy over his termination (for whatever reason that may have actually been). And almost all of them haven't even played the damn thing.

Immature children...

Meh, I agree with Denji on everything he has said, so I have nothing to add to the topic in general, but will just reply to a couple of things...

i live in canada too and theres tons of jobs you can get, most fast foot places will let you work there at age 12 its crazy, or just get a paper route you lazy kidphilip6k

Riiight... Um, no. You must be 16 to legally work in Canada, otherwise some select fast food places can fire 15 year olds (primarily McDonald's). Good job though.

they will more than likely take it as a trade in, yes, even as a 13 year old, I was trading in games at that age, and have never once been asked for an ID. and even so, if they have a policy like that, you certainly do NOT need a driver's license, what kind of retarded BS are you trying to feed the kid? you know, there are people out there that don't have licenses that re 30+ anything that says you need a "valid driver's license" means you need a real ID, not that you can drive, just has to be an ID given to you by the state, you can get an ID that isn't a driver's license that is still valid
theflyingcow40

Valid ID up here is limited. Driver's license, Age of Majority card (for drinking purposes), new health card (which is not accepted everywhere), citizenship card (which pretty much only immigrants will have), military ID card (self explanetory) and passports (which anyone carrying that around for ID is brain dead).

And EB up here requires photo ID with your age, and usually they also need your address. I'm 22, have been going to the one EB I do for the past 7 years and know the people there personally, but I still need to show photo ID when I do trade the occasional thing in.

No 13 year old will be carrying any of those around.

Maybe think before you go on a rant about things you obviously know nothing about.

Well the battery is at 3 bars.

Could it just be the battery pack itself is dying or something?

Well regardless, seems inconsequential.
