I'll weep for the fact that so many people are still concerned more about these petty inane arguments about which game is better, than they are about simply enjoying what two quality games in the same genre have to offer them.

Uh, no. I haven't confirmed anything for you, I made a joke about Roman's accent and odd obsession with his cousin. I'll be damned on the day you of all people get to sum up my opinions for me, and you sure as hell don't get to do it for this community at large either. Seriously? This little war you go on about here on the forums? Only you actually care about it. A lot of us have had our fill of GTA4 for now and are playing holiday games, and a lot of us are playing Saints Row 2, and a few weeks from now we'll have our fill of that and move on again. (if even that long, it IS the holidays afterall, and better games are on the way as we speak) Well, I'm not. I must admit, you've been so dreadfully annoying about the whole thing that I just can't bring myself to play the game, I connect it with you directly, and so I just can't bring myself to play it. I'm usually a pretty impulsive game buyer too, so congrats on actively costing the company and series you praise so much some money, with fans like that, who needs enemies?

We're gamers, we game. Obsessive compulsive disorder, it's treatable, Enig. You get more out of arguing about games than you do playing them, and thats why you lose Enig, always, no matter how an arguement on this forum goes for you or doesn't. This forum has tried to move on several hundred times, you're like the Halo bashers who complain about all the praise and discussion about Halo, but who in reality themselves bring the game up on a constant basis. Get a grip.

I know its hard but can you honestly tell me with a straight face that Metal Gear Solid 4 is leagues better than the first three that came before it? Why?GodModeEnabled

It's not "hard" at all to have an opinion, Yes, it is leagues better than the other games because it's simply more fun to play. The improved core shooting gameplay and Octo-Camo make the game just as cool to play as watch. The cutscenes are there for a reason, and they get the job done. On any one of my several replays of the game, I just skipped them and kept playing. Acts 1,2, and 4 especially are just really awesome.

The same thing goes to Grand Theft Auto IV, Gears Of War, and several other games. Gameplay has taken a big backseat in favor of the next new graphical powerhouse and people lap it up. What little gameplay these games have is derivitative, unimaginative and poorly thrown together.GodModeEnabled

Both of those games are actually excellent titles with refined and tight gameplay. I'm still playing GTA4, and I've replayed Gears of War dozens of times without ever going online just because of how fun the core gameplay is. All the uniqueness and imagination in the world does not a great game make on their own, and GTA4 and Gears of War are great games, whether they do anything for you personally or not.

Anyways, games with better graphics will come on ps3 and that will make mgs4 look shallow and void.

Then don't argue with me, just explain the logic behind your initial bizzare statement about games being judged on their graphics on a large scale across the board. Because as I've already showcased, whether speaking of reviewers or gamers, that statement simply doesn't mesh with reality at all.
