I find the whole topic to have a false premise. I don't think any developer in Japan or the West wakes up in the morning going "let's kick come foreign developer ass" They just make games and the consumers support what they like.

Right now the money is in the west, so that's where development will flourish, but it's not like anyone is competing for develpoment kudos (no winners or losers).

Exactly. This "war" or contest between the different regions of developers only exists in the minds of sad people with too much internet free time. I have Orange Box, Morrowind, Prey, Perfect Dark Zero, and Bioshock on the same shelf as DMC4, Blue Dragon, Inifinite Undiscovery, NG2, and Lost Odyssey, and thats pretty rad.

MGS4 had real time cut-scenes while uncharted didn't. Heavenly sword uses cgi in some cutscenes. All mgs4 graphics were running on real time so this makes it the best looking game on ps3. Assassin's Creed and many other games come to mind when it comes to games getting high scores because of their graphics.

The graphics of AC are a vital part of the game, as one of it's selling points is immersion factor. I'll also again point out that Mario Galaxy got the lions share of GOTY awards last year, and it wasn't exactly a visual marvel, it was a slightly more shiny version of SMS with better level design. Your insistence that games are graded on graphics alone is simply wrong.

I can't speak for Grammaton, he is more than capable of doing that for himself. But I find it pretty annoying to have people insist I slap a "IMO" on the end of every other sentence to avoid offending them by making them think I am passing my opinion off as a fact. When I say Morrowind is a better game than Oblivion, I am coming from my own significant play time based perspective. It should be generally accepted by the members of the forum that the statement is indeed very much an opinion, unless otherwise stated. If they feel the need to point out that it is just an opinion, something the author is very much already aware of, it just shows insecurity on their part.

If you have a grief about another thread, Enig, it's considered a classy thing to do to take it into a PM, rather than drag down another thread with typical internet forum drama.

Oh you definitely wouldn't want to meet my pastor cuz if he finds out that you're in possession of anything bordering on violent, he would surely incinerate it while shunning it as the work of the devil. Yep, he's that extreme. BladesOfAthena

His bible has a heck of a lot of violence in it.

How dare you, sir. The dating feature was great. I for one, loved to have Roman call me every five minutes to ask me if I wanted to go see "BEEG AMERICAN TEE TEES", or play darts, or play the drive home drunk and don't get killed game.

This is all the help I can give you with Facebreaker.

1- Press the eject button

2- Take the game out of your system

3- Put it in the box and trade it in at Gamestop for store credit, and hope you get more than ten bucks for it, though the fact that they likely have twenty used copies points to no.

Look I'm sorry, really I am, but you bought an absolutely broken game. I can relate, I paid brand new prices for Dino Crisis 3 and WWF Raw 2 on the Xbox last gen, on the same day. I literally felt a piece of my soul die.

You care more about the sounds being uttered by the characters than what they are doing to each other? Really?foxhound_fox

I wonder if that means he can watch porn, so long as it's muted? Seriously, I want to know.

Select few? Do you know how many front loading NES systems people used to have to go through to get one that would work more than a few months? It was as bad as or worse than Microsofts hardware issues with the 360. Not to mention Nintendo launched the GBA completely broken out of the gate, as it was virtually unplayable in anything but the most ideal and specific lighting conditions, which kinda ruined the whole portable aspect right off the bat. The Nintendo hardware invincibility goes from the SNES to the Wii. On the portable side, as I said, it had a hiccup with the original GBA.

They have a decent track record on the whole, but you aren't as unique as you may think amongst those of us who have been gaming since the early and mid eighties. How many of you blew on carts and popped them into the system with great force, hoping and praying the freaking thing would let you play the game you rented?

I'm sure GTA4's sales had nothing to do with the review scores, lol. And to whoever brought up bragging rights, you sound extremely hypocritical. I've been reading people's comments all day, and everyone keeps talking about how much fun SR2 is, yet certain groups of people will still be posting all over internet forums bragging about GTA4's higher review scores.EnigManic

You're more than welcome to provide actual evidence of pay per reviews for GTA4 from major review sources, if you would like to. You can start with Gamespot, since this is where we all post. (but how you tolerate all of us simple minded casual fanboys is beyond me [your blog is so awesome]) I'm not sure how I sounded hypocritical at all, certain groups will post that stuff yes, I am not those certain groups. I am a unique person. But by all means, keep building and knocking down strawmen, whatever helps you get your jollies and lulz.
