OK heres my story:

Last week I got my 4870 in the mail, and after a couple of days I got my hdmi cable in the mail, and after hours of tinkering I finally got my HDTV resolution all perfect. 1080p no under/overscan, everything scaled perfectly.

Then a few days later my girlfriend decided we should try windows 7 (Great OS, horrible for me)

In short basically, I didn't read up on how there was problems with the monitors and most ati drivers, where the resolution or refresh rate was so big that after the computer was started up in non-safe mode, the screen was no longer visible. Also during this time, I noticed that my HDTV didn't even recognize that the HDMI cord was connected, so there was no signal from my graphics card anymore with the windows 7 drivers. Because of the problems wih the hdmi, i was on vga for the time being until I got vista 64 bit reinstalled.

Now with vista reinstalled my graphcis card is STILL not putting out an hdmi signal although I completely formatted my harddrive and installed/uninstalled drivers for hours. Everything is the same, just no signal now. Just to trouble shoot

I tried a different HDMI cord - nada

Tried different drivers - nada

Tried a different hdtv ( a Bravia) - nada

Tried switching ports - nada

Tried killing myself - Left me with a very sore neck.

Basically now I'm trying to see if I can get any help here on the forums or perhaps see if anyone is having a similar problem (Which i doubt because I can't find anything on google for this)

I'm down to basically thinking its the drivers for the graphics card/the graphics card itself/ or the adapter that does dvi to hdmi.

Any Ideas/Help? Thanks

System Specs:

4 gig ocz ddr3 ram

AMD 2+ MSI 770 - C45 Mother Board

Radeon HD 4870 (duh)

Phenom II 3.2 x4 CPU

650 PSU

Running on 64 bit

The video tuner that you found is from a company TVIX.com which seems to be exactly what Im looking for, Unfortunatly I wasnt planning on spending over 175 dollars on it, but I think there other optionsbest suit my need. Thanks again for helping me, and if anyone else has any suggestions on other HDTV tunner multimedia devices just reply, thanks!

Hey, am currently faceing a problem on finding a good video tuner for my pc that fits my needs as a gamer.

I am looking for a graphics card that allows me to

1) Play my xbox 360 (has HDTV 1080P)

2) Watch TV (Just cable)

3) Play on my computer

4) Do all of these at the same time.

5) Is PCI

If any of you could point me in the right direction of a video tuner or graphics card that has these features that would be awesome, thanks.

Hey guys, I just need a little help finding a Tv Tuner card for my computer.

I've been looking for a tv tuner card for a while now, but there are a few features that I can barely find on any of them, and since you all are experts, maybe you could help me find a couple or some that you reccomend.

First of all, my goal is to put cable on my computer monitor (which is actually a 27" widescreen HDTV) and to also put my xbox 360 on it. My main problem is that I cant seem to find one with an Hdtv input, and I dont even know if there is such one with a input for hdmi (maybe you can still plug that cord form your 360 into your monitor???). My second problem is that my computer only has a PCI card slot, so any card that I would physicaly put into my computer would have to be pci, not pci-express. Lastly I can only spend about 100 dollars or less.

If you guys could find me an external box or a tv tuner card (or a Graphics card with a integrated TV tuner) That would be awesome.

Thanks in advance.

I recently recieved my brothers old computer, and I switched over my graphics card and added an extra stick of ram. Im just wondering if there is a way that I could transfer my old harddrive to this computer, or some way I could transfer the data from my old computer to this one and somehow save the information on this computer just in case.

Btw, The computer isnt recognizing my extra ram, is there anything i have to do specifically to do so?
