You could go at a silient hill'esque kind of setting (with a little FPS Vietnam action!) with an awesome Jacob's ladder game

Makes no difference to me whether Shep features or not. an honorable nod to him in conversation with somebody reminiscing about his (our) exploits maybe, but I'm sure we will all create our own brand new character and play that role enough to make the next installments in the series as deeply personal as the first three Mass Effect games were.

Friends and party quick access.. VITAL revamps. Such a clunky process to interact with friends in it's current incarnation while you are up to your elbows in a fire fight

forgive lowering the tone of Rockstar's usual genre /setting and theme... but it's impossible for me not to wish that just once, Rockstar got their hands on a DC comics or even Star Wars license.
