The demonstration of DS3 was probably the sadest moment for me this E3. Such a fantastic IP that's just getting worse and worse as it's losing more of its identity.

I agree with this article. Another example for me was sadly Arkham City. Allthough a great game it could have been better if Rocksteady didn't try to please all fans by adding as many character as possible. The story/character development suffered a great deal from this.

From a business pov he's probably right. Personally though I liked Vanquish just the way it was :). I don't think the gameplay would have transfered well to MP

@topeira

Yeah I don't get it fully either. Maybe if player X activates BT all players in his line of sight AND all player who have X in their line of sight will be affected. Additionaly suppose player Y is looking at X. Then all players looking at, or being looked at by Y will also be affected. That means some sort of network effect.

I can agree that the campaign should prepare you for MP, so that inconsistency is a misstake (hated that aspect of BF3). But that the horde mode plays differently from the MP has to be a good thing, right?

Not interested in the multiplayer anyway so doesn't affect me. But seriously things are getting worse and worse in terms of milking players. I wonder how far this can go?

I agree with the article. They need to refocus the series. Throw out a lot of the junk and work on improving the core elements (mainly combat that despite looking awesome has always been a weak, borderline broken part, of AC). I wish Ubisoft always asked themselves: "Is this fun to play" before adding new elements to the series. Also some of the missions are so dumb that they breakt the immersion.
