God of War, Halo, Journey, Last of Us, and The Legend of Zelda are all scripted. These are some of the best games of all time. They may not tell MY story, but I'm playing games because I'm tired of MY story. I want to play someone else's story. If I wanted to express myself I'd finger paint.

Open world games can be fun, but rarely is there any motivation other than to keep progressing stats. I like to play games where I'm only involved enough to have fun and feel like I'm helping tell the story, rather than writing it.

And what's wrong with imitating movies? Having a central, driving plot? Having stunning visuals? Having realistic and relatable characters? No excessive periods of grinding to progress through the story? I understand you want a player to have complete freedom Spector, but that's not a game, that's a mess.

And yet still I prefer Driveclub to both of those games. Forza 6 is great and Project Cars is cool, but I still can't get into those games. Driveclub just feels better for me (not more realistic) and it certainly looks better (much more realistic).

P.S. Anyone who disagrees about Driveclub looking better is either blind or a scrub, and I challenge you to take better pictures in the other racing games to compare against Driveclub pictures.

@BoxOfPocky Wow. I wish the game got poor reviews for that moniker alone. Kevin Van Ord, make it happen. JK. But really. Kevin. Stahp.

Doesn't look like my style of game, but I'll give it a go just to see. Definitely a creative art style akin to Lollipop Chainsaw, TF2, and Saints Row. If the gameplay is anything like Infamous then it'll be a blast.

Strange Kevin, I don't suck at Driveclub LOL Seems fine all around. The handling is between Motorsport and Horizon with added difficulty from road bumps and inflexible routes. It took me just a few races to adapt to it. And shame on you for relying on rewind. If you need that, you shouldn't be reviewing racers.

As for the rating, to each his own. Graphics are a 9 for me and I'd give an 8 for the gameplay AND music (suck it Kev). Not perfect but definitely not a 5. AI is solid but nothing special so I'd give that a 7. I'd give a 7 for the menu too; it's a liitle bland but very functional. I do cringe at the penalties, but it's rarely an issue for me.

Haven't touched the online yet but plan to soon. Hope it's not as bad as you say. Not expecting much though.

The other negatives are far exaggerated and given far too much weight in the score (in my opinion). Sorry Kev, but I disagree with your review. Still, it's your opinion and I respect it. Have fun in Horizon.

“Imagine watching a horror show where the Kinect sees you cover your eyes so the volume goes up or they say, ‘Put your hands down.’”

That's the dumbest thing I've heard since the announcement that there will be no Kinect-less bundles. Why?

1.) Who's covering their eyes? How often will that actually happen?

2.) I can't imagine that line being anything but cheesy and distracting.

3.) Aren't horror movies supposed to be designed to be as scary as possible? If greater volume would help, why wouldn't they just add that to the original?

Probably the largest jump for the series since Zombies. That isn't saying much, but at least it's something.

You made a judgement based on two quarters? That is so lazy. Of course you probably aren't going to feel a massive difference. The buttons are the same and you're playing the same sport. Chances are you're not going to see a massive change in gameplay. Not unless they make it 2k14 Street and throw in bears with chainsaws.

What were you expecting? Button mashing to quell the coach's rage when you miss an open shot? I don't understand why people think things are going to change drastically. There was really not much wrong with it to begin with. A steep graphics update is good enough for me to try the new iteration even though I suck at the game.

I don't really understand why 60 fps is necessary. I've seen and played both 30 fps and 60 fps, yet I never noticed a difference for gameplay. As long as there's no lag and I don't see frames jumps then the games all seem to play the same. 60 fps is nice I guess, but it won't make you not suck at video games. Wish I could have been part of the study. Wonder if I would have fit the trend.
