I might just pick up VC... JRPGs aren't my favorite, but the hype for the game on this board has been pretty hard to ignore.

Is there a thread in the 360 forum for thier list? I'd like to see that, too....

Motorstorm can be had used for $15. A really good off-road racing title.

This topic is slightly old, but I still wanted to offer some imput.

The Gamecube might just rank as my favorite console (although the PS3 is coming close to overtaking it). Just some highlights:

Various Zelda titles. They're always a prime Nintendo series and there are a number of options for the Gamecube

Resident Evil 4. It started off as a Gamecube exclusive, before an expanded PS2 release. I still pick the Gamecube version as THE version to play as the controls simply feel better. Graphics are a bit better, also.

Speaking of Resident Evil, there is Resident Evil Zero, plus Resident Evil REmake, and RE2 and RE3, not to mention Code Veronica. And maybe one or two others I'm forgetting.

Mario Kart Double Dash, in addition to a whole menagerie of other Mario titles.

Metroid Prime is the FPS that everyone WISHES they could play. But they can't without Gamecube. Pity.

Ikaruga is considered a must-play, although I personally have not found the reviews to mention anything that I am interested in.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem might be the best exclusive on the Gamecube. Widely considered to be one of the more creative and interesting horror game around. I consider it to be a must-play and well-worth the price of the system alone.

I have played multiple versions of Lego Star Wars, and the Gamecube is by far the best of the lot (with a close 2nd to the DS version). Wholly satisfying and a ton of replay value.

Chibi-Robo! is one of those games that I have not personally played, but it looks awesome. There are a bunch of random games like this for the game cube that only Nintendo would OK.

F Zero-GX is one of the best and hardest of the space racers. Looks gorgeous and highly recommended.

Killer7 is an odd game that rides the line between FPS and horror with a distinct comic-book style. Another highly underrated game.

Beyond Good and Evil is multi-plat, but a very solid part of the Gamecube library.

So many others, I haven't even gone through half of the list. But I got bored. Soooooo...

I got my 360 in... October '08. The end of the month, if I remember correctly. I took advantage of Gamestops buy 2-get-1 free special on used games and got a pretty impressive library, including Fallout 3, Fable II, Grid, Ninja Gaiden II, and... a few other things. In the second week of December I suddenly found out that I was two months behind on rent (I had thought I was paid through the end of the year), so I had to get money IMMEDIATELY. I had to sell back all of the games (except the most recent Project Gotham title), in addition to my wireless adaptor, some Gamecube titles, etc. I was soooo annoyed. I mean... my fault. But, still. I have since re-acquired both Fable II and Fallout 3... which did nothing but increase my annoyance at the situation. Sigh.

These days backwards compatibility is the consumer-friendly decision. The Nintendo Wii is fully backwards compatible with the Gamecube. The 360 can play a large number of orginal xbox games. I bought the MGS bundle for this very reason. I've never owned a PS2 and I wanted access to those games (well, 80% of those games anyway). Sure, I could have picked up a used ps2... but then I'd have four consoles in my fairly small apartment. I'd have a devilish mess of wires/cables and a whole lot of crap in my floor space.

This whole "we've got bc", "now we don't", "wait, here it is again in a different from!", "but no longer..." game is pretty obnoxious.

[QUOTE="CosmoKing7717"]gamecube...=( never got to play all of the awesome games...K1LLR3175
Haha. The gamecube did have some amazing games.

Amen! A decicively underrated system. Also really cheap to pick up these days... probably because the Wii is fully backwards compatible.

Anyway, I have a 360. I don't really have much interest in the Wii... although if I would ever find a good deal on one I'd not be opposed to checking out some of their better system exclusives and their version of Resident Evil 4. But I'm more interested in re-acquiring a DS. That is the perfect portable system right now.

We're in the PS3 forum, but since the topic reads "of all time" I'm going to assume I can branch into other systems.

01. Resident Evil 4 -(Gamecube) one of my first games and I loved it. I had never owned a console before, so... I sucked. Essentially, I think it is impossible for anyone else to have died as often and as gruesomely as I did. No challenge was so easy for me to fail on. I couldn't even figure it out without the help of a walkthrough. But I loved it. Still do.

02. Bully -(PS2) This is what would happen if GTA took itself less seriously and had more focus. No, you can't kill anyone or steal cars, but I just love the feel.

03. Goldeneye: Rogue Agent -(Gamecube) Yeah, I know everyone hates this game. I don't even care. I had a blast playing through it the first time AND the second time. (Well, the second time I did it on the hardest difficulty. Could never get past the final boss on the hardest. And the save system on that level means you have to plow through the entire level in one sitting--so to even reach the final boss again I'd have to grind through that bloody obnoxious level and it takes forever. Not worth it.

04. Unreal Tournament -(PC) This was my first shooter. Loved it to death. The announcer's echoing "mult-kill!" and "rampage!"... running around getting my favorite gun for each level. I was always an ace at this one game where you can get the sniper and climb the highest point on the map and just start picking opponents off. But for some levels the flask cannon was like cutting through confetti... others I preferred to simply dual-weild the handguns.

05. Fable -(xbox) When my first xbox broke I sold all of my xbox games because I was convinced I wouldn't buy another microsoft console. So all of my xbox games got sold (demanding a price much lower than they were worth on ebay) and exited my life. (This was the biggest casualty, although still wish I had Psychonauts, Burnout Revenge, and Futurama). Of course, famous last words... I got a 360 late last year. So I could have played this again after all. Ah well, I should be able to pick it up used at a good price here at some point.

Honorable Mention nods to: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (Gamecube), Beyond Good and Evil (Gamecube), Puzzle Quest (NDS)

Games from this generation which I don't have enough playtime on yet to count, but could make the list: Resident Evil 5 (ps3), LittleBigPlanet (ps3), and Metal Gear Solid 4 (ps3)

Assassin's Creed - Just... no. It is fun for the first few missions... then all of a sudden I realized I would be much, much happier if I never looked at the game again.

Unreal Tournament III - at the time I didn't have a ps3, so I was just using my roomie's system. He moved it to his girlfriends house and I needed money. I re-acquired it after I got my own PS3.

The Club - Fun enoguh, I guess. Not my speed of game, really. Only lost a few dollars on the trade in... less than a game rental. I call it even.

Ratchet & Clank Futures Weapons of Destruction - actually fun... but I needed Resident Evil 5. Actually got more on the trade in ($21) than I paid for it new ($15)... so even though I wish I still had it... I didn't exactly lose, either. I'm keeping the save data on my ps3 so I can re-acquire it at some point if I ever see a good deal.

if it is the possible Rockstar title that people are bantering about, I'd love to see Bully II. Not a system-seller, but sure would make me a happy campter. The first Bully=all kinds of win
