i have a question for you guys..since you said you want japanese ps3 games, doesnt that mean you live in a country other than japan? Im thinking of ordering a japanese PS3 game as well but I cant read or understand japanese? Am i missing something?

redmetalninja

I haven't imported any Japanese PS3 games, but I have imported some Nintendo Japanese games. Generally, if the title is a JP exclusive, the text and spoken parts will be in Japanese. So it all depends on the kind of game as to whether that poses a problem. I imported Naruto 4 for the Gamecube and generally did OK with it because there was no storyline to try to comprehend. It was just a matter of some trial-and-error on the menu screen and in figuring out controls. Same with the golfing game I picked up. On the other hand, I tried a Zelda game and was completely lost since it utilizes a lot of text... I didn't know which end was up.

So for games that are fairly action oriented and story doesn't matter, or sports kind of games, importing is a fine option. However, RPGs would be difficult. There are sometimes guides online for japanese games that translate the menus and some of the in-game stuff to help you know what is going on.

a friend of mine want to trade my gt5 prologue for his burnout. i loved burnoout 3 and revenge and considering gtp5 is 40 bucks i should do it, but what do u guys think?pulga_ttt

I would do that in a heartbeat. I haven't played Paradise yet, but I've been playing on GT5P and I have to admit it is really boring me. The Burnout series leans towards amazing and I can't wait to acquire it somehow.

I've watched every episode of Naruto to date (including the most recent Shippuuden espisode.) I won't lie. It isn't an amazing series. It starts off kind of rough in the first handful of episodes, but it pickes up by the what? 5th or 6th. Then it is pretty great for a while. It is through the section of greatness where you either become a fan or you still don't care. If you don't care during the Chunin exam, then it really isn't worth continuing. Even most fans of the series can't stand the last half or so of the first series. (I maintain that the last arc is really great, though I don't have an exact episode start number for that). To me, at this point (what, 66 episodes into Shippuuden?), and ever since the Chunin exam, is the main draw to the series for me is the characters. And not the main characters as much as the side characters. Each character seems to have a history that is outlined at some point in the series. If you are into character-driven series, Naruto is pretty great. If you are mostly into plot, Naruto succeeds in the beginning... but really, REALLY drops off with the filler episodes.

I picked it up a couple of weeks ago when I saw gamespot had it used for $25. It is enjoyable, especially at first, but you will start to notice it getting repitious and boring. And then there will be times when you're playing late at night, and all you want to do is go to bed, but you're in a stretch where it doesn't save for ages, and you're just like, "make it stop!!" and the guards keep chasing you and you keep getting lost and you realize it is 2am* and you still can't quit... because you need to save... and then you get mad.

*feel free to convert this number into whatever time of day you get really tired.

Resident Evil 5.

It'll be the game to cinvince me to stop mooching on my roommate's PS3 and get my own. (Because I'll be moved out by then... and back with the parents whilst finishing up college).

Personally I would suggest looking into something like a used 60GB instead. Not only would you be paying less, but this also gives you the best possible backwards compatibility (99% with PS2 games, vs the 80GB's 80-95%).ThePlothole

Wait, why would the percentage be different there? It seems like either it is backwards compatable or not...?

Also, love your avatar. Kudos.

I don't think one movie video game has been good ..420Token420

Largely I agree with you... although there are just enough exceptions to keep me from really being able to sign on to you statement (off hand, the Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Boucher Bay was really good).

you can switch voices to Japanese (thank god)kenshinhimura16

Well my interest level went from about zero to being very interested. I love Naruto, but hate the English dubs (I always watch it subbed). The stupid voices always turned me off from the other Naruto games I've picekd up (with the exception of the one gamecube title I imported... then I was turned off by simply not being able to understand the menu and in-game text...) Once this demo hits the US I may just give it a peek-a-boo.

Goldeneye: Rogue Agent. I had it for the Gamecube and loved it. Thought it might make a fun portable FPS, but not only were the graphics most wretched, but it was a b@#*$ to control. Plus it felt way too dumbed down. And the difficulty never came from difficult foes... simply poor controls. Oh well, it is someone else's problem now.
