That are some games I played a very looong time when I was younger. GTA3 was just the most awesome game for about two or three years for me. And it was a huge fun to learn all the historic stuff by playing Age of Empires II.
We're in the PS3 forum, but since the topic reads "of all time" I'm going to assume I can branch into other systems.
01. Resident Evil 4 -(Gamecube) one of my first games and I loved it. I had never owned a console before, so... I sucked. Essentially, I think it is impossible for anyone else to have died as often and as gruesomely as I did. No challenge was so easy for me to fail on. I couldn't even figure it out without the help of a walkthrough. But I loved it. Still do.
02. Bully -(PS2) This is what would happen if GTA took itself less seriously and had more focus. No, you can't kill anyone or steal cars, but I just love the feel.
03. Goldeneye: Rogue Agent -(Gamecube) Yeah, I know everyone hates this game. I don't even care. I had a blast playing through it the first time AND the second time. (Well, the second time I did it on the hardest difficulty. Could never get past the final boss on the hardest. And the save system on that level means you have to plow through the entire level in one sitting--so to even reach the final boss again I'd have to grind through that bloody obnoxious level and it takes forever. Not worth it.
04. Unreal Tournament -(PC) This was my first shooter. Loved it to death. The announcer's echoing "mult-kill!" and "rampage!"... running around getting my favorite gun for each level. I was always an ace at this one game where you can get the sniper and climb the highest point on the map and just start picking opponents off. But for some levels the flask cannon was like cutting through confetti... others I preferred to simply dual-weild the handguns.
05. Fable -(xbox) When my first xbox broke I sold all of my xbox games because I was convinced I wouldn't buy another microsoft console. So all of my xbox games got sold (demanding a price much lower than they were worth on ebay) and exited my life. (This was the biggest casualty, although still wish I had Psychonauts, Burnout Revenge, and Futurama). Of course, famous last words... I got a 360 late last year. So I could have played this again after all. Ah well, I should be able to pick it up used at a good price here at some point.
Honorable Mention nods to: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (Gamecube), Beyond Good and Evil (Gamecube), Puzzle Quest (NDS)
Games from this generation which I don't have enough playtime on yet to count, but could make the list: Resident Evil 5 (ps3), LittleBigPlanet (ps3), and Metal Gear Solid 4 (ps3)
Okay, well there's been tons of sweet games this gen, but I'll pull out my favorite games from other gens because I will need to look back on this gen to see what my favorites are for this generation.
My favorite games to play when I was little (probably not my favorite games of all time, but this is a sweet list nonetheless):
1) Altered Beast. "POWER UP!!!" - Enough said. Anyone who has played this game should appreciate that
2) Zombies Ate my Neighbors - Still the best zombie game ever, even with Left 4 Dead, Nazi zombies, and RE to battle with
3) Toe Jam & Earl - Chasing Santa and getting his goodies was tons of fun. Plenty of roaming around to do.
4) Cool Spot (The 7-Up guy game) - I played this at my friend's house all the time and loved it.
5) Full Throttle - Most bad ass protagonist in a game ever
I just wanted to give those games some due credit because they'll probably never end up on a favorite game list.
My top 5 favorite games of all time:
1) Suikoden II - Best RPG of all time. I loved collecting all 108 characters and I was very drawn into the story.
2) Shining Force 3 - Best strategy RPG of all time. I know people talk about FF7 being rare, but try getting a copy of this game.
3) MGS 4 - How could you not love the end (maybe?) of Snake's story
4) MGS 3 - Where it all began for Big Boss
5) MLB 08 The Show - I've probably put more hours into this game online than any other game ever.
1) Jak II (Good plot,...mmmnnnn, oh so good)
2) Dark Cloud 2 (Best mini-game ever!)
3) Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (It all started here, dark comedy.)
4) Valkyria Chronicles (awesome gameplay, crushes all other srpg combat)
5) Shadow of the Colossus (True Epicness)
In no particular order:
1) MGS3- my favourite of the series. Definatly Kojimas finest hour in my book!
2) Shadow of the Colossus- Epic doesnt begin to describe the game. The whole game is mind blowing.
3) Ocarina of Time- Revolutionary and my fav Zelda game so far.
4) Ico- Yup, yup, yup. The perfect game for their first shot. Did ya know they were thiking of scrapping it?
5) Indigo Prophecy- First time 'cinematic gameplay' has ever been achievedin my book. Awesome story (until the last 1/3)
In order with 1 = Favorite
1) Metroid Prime - GCN - The atmosphere, the graphics, the gameplay, the way they tell the story, all wonderful. Have completed 8 times, 3 of them near perfact, 1 perfect.
2) Metal Gear Solid Series - PS1/2/3 - Kinda self-explanatory, eh?
3) Super Mario RPG - SNES - Funny, great RPG, good story, and it's Mario.
4) Tetris - GB, N64, PS, PS2, Xbox, GCN, Wii, GBC, DS,etc. - I own it on 4 systems, have put in 40-50 hours on every version.
5) Donkey Kong Country 2 Diddy Kong's Quest - SNES/GBC/GBA - Hair tearing, controller-throwing difficult. But great level design, amazing music, and simple but complex gameplay. Just amazing all around

In no perticular order
Killzone 2 (PS3) - Excellent FPS which has had me hooked and immersed from day one, which no other FPS has done for me, even with UT3.
Streets Of Rage 2 (SEGA Genesis) - Loved the original but I loved this sequal purely because of the extra character and the verses mode. Plus a banging soundtrack :D
Crash Team Racing (PSOne) - Wacky racing at it's finest with everyone's favorite bandicoot. Unfortunately the "sequals" sucked.
Oddworld : Abe's Oddysee (PSOne) - No other game in gaming history has made my head hurt so much in joyous frustration, excellent puzzles and character interactions which spawed 3 more excellent games in the Oddworld universe.
Final Fantasy VIII (PSOne) - It wouldn't be fair to overlook this one because of VII but I felt more in touch with the characters and the story with VIII which has compelled me to play it more than VII. I will always love the Summons (or Guardian Forces) for this Final Fantasy than any other.
1. BIOSHOCK 2.FALLOUT 3 3.Half life 2 4.CALL OF DUTY 4 5.KILLZONE 2BIOSHOCKER98

3. Super Mario Bros. 3
4. Final Fantasy 7
5. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
1. Final Fantasy (I loved them all)
2. Metal Gear Solid (Loved all these as well)
3. Killer Instinct SNES(because ultra combos in that game were far more brutal then any ive ever seen)
4. Devil May Cry (the original was still the best so was 3. 4 was alright needed more Dante though)
5. Resident Evil (how could you not like them? "You were almost a Jill Sandwich" is still the best line in a game ever)
For PS2 Final fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid Series, Resident Evil 2 and Jak and Daxter series. Growing up I loved Streets of rage, Comix Zone, Beyond Oasis, The Sonic Series and Demolition Man for the Genesis. I never had Nintendo's systems for long but when I did I love anything Mario. Especially Mario Kart. Contra series. TMNT series, Bomberman... I can't think of a 5th right now. Maybe Double Dragons.
