@mrougeau: I'm told that there's at least three things Toni Colette (who, bizarrely, lives in my neighbourhood) does in this movie that'll screw with your head forever. I won't be seeing it for personal reasons, I'm a fan of horror, but there's certain themes the film contains that I won't go near. But I am interested in seeing the public response.
I know folks that saw early screenings at SXSW, and based on what they told me, it's the ending that's a cold, stone punch to the gut, and when you rewatch the film it casts everything in a different light (especially, and including the characters). I know which scene the woman in the review was reacting to, and let's just say if you're not a fan of sudden gore, maybe don't see this.
It'll be interesting to see what the general public's reaction to this movie is.
@Verenti: I agree with everything you say. More diversity in our shows is a good thing, yes, absolutely.
Just a note: you can be Middle-Eastern and Mediterranean at the same time. Like me. I'm Lebanese and have a mixture of both features, so much so that I often get mistaken for Greek.
