[QUOTE="SemiMaster"][QUOTE="LoG-Sacrament"]photorealism is a very limiting goal. animation, lighting, clipping, weather effects, physics engines, water effects, AI, and all sorts of things need to be improved before we even begin to approach reality. theres a long way to go.LoG-SacramentNow that sounds familiar... is it because i repeat myself (yes, i know this :P ) or am i missing something? My almost exact same statement one post prior perhaps.
Volition released a 7-minute video of doing random stupid stuff. That's the selling point of this game. That's all I've ever seen Saints Row fans talk about. Is there something other to this game that is so great yet nobody is willing to mention (including the developer, publisher and their biggest fans)?
I couldn't bring myself to watch 7 minutes of this game to completion. There's no way I'd ever pay money for it for the off chance that I might be wrong. Because, usually, I am not. At best, it's a poor man's San Andreas with a bunch of random crap to do. Pass.
All i've seen GTA IV fans talk about are the graphics and the story....which has very little to do with actual GAMEPLAY. So sorry that fans of the SR series talk about a variety of things they can do in a game. They should be talking about how your stereotypical drugdealing jamaican friend calls you every 15 minutes and gets mad when you wont hang out with him...because everyone plays games for their below average hollywood movie stories. If you probably watched the whole 7 minutes with an unbias mind you would see that they improved graphics, improved physics, added more weapons, added more fighting styles, talked about co-op, added more vehicles...and we all know previews these days never mention anything new that the game offers or any improvements they've made  might want to put down the haterade for a few moments then come back in the topic. You realize your cogent well formulated yet slightly sarcastic response will fall on deaf ears/blind eyes because of those who think GTA4 is god's gift to them.photorealism is a very limiting goal. animation, lighting, clipping, weather effects, physics engines, water effects, AI, and all sorts of things need to be improved before we even begin to approach reality. theres a long way to go.LoG-SacramentNow that sounds familiar...
