I'll pre-order if it's a game I know I'll love for hours and if it's apart of a series I love.

Watch Dogs is a game I'll pre-order since it's from Ubisoft and it has a lot of Splinter Cell time cover based combat and cover swapping in it.

NHL 15 is a game I'll pre-order because I get more fun and playtime out of the NHL series than any other. You can play for 30 minutes in between other games, reading or other activities; or play for hours. Plus there's so many different modes to choose from.

The Saints Row series: enough said. I m♥rried to the S♥ints R♥w series. I love the characters, the story and dialog. The humor and character customizations and second to none. It's lots of fun most of the time. Saint Row IV was just meant to be a DLC add-on for SR3, but the guys in charge decided to make it a full game, but it's still a great action-adventure, science fiction parody of Prototype and Mass Effect. The romance scenes were funny, funny, funny.

The InFAMOUS series, Spinter Cell series, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon (after Future Soldier) is one I'll always pre-order of buy on day one.

Some other games I can pre-order, buy day one or wait like the Pro Evolution Soccer & WWE series.

But most other games can wait until after day one to let other people test the waters & because I have too many games already and don't need to add to my backlog. It's usually the smart thing to do since the real game doesn't always match the pre-game marketing hype and anticipation.

@_Judas_:

Thank you for the warning. The game has good ideas and is very tantalizing, but they seemed to not execute them well.

@PiscesAnimeGirl:

Dead or Alive V: The most beautiful and sexy women in video games.

Dead of Alive V a good/great game with good combat. It has a good story and combat.

I'm so busy playing other games and busy with other things in real life that I haven't played it much. I played it for about 10 hours one week, another 5 hours another week and haven't gotten around to it much later.

I really enjoyed Dead or Alive Dimension on the 3DS.

Some day I'll buy Dead of Alive V for the PS Vita.

One caveat: TONS and TONS of costume DLC. You can buy them individually or they have them in group packs.

Yes, I'm looking forward to it. Ubisoft usually makes great quality games.

This looks like Splinter Cell with hacking. Perhaps an open world amalgam of Splinter Cell inFAMOUS and Deus Ex.

The cover swapping mechanics and Cover based shooing in the Splinter Cell series (Blacklist and Conviction) is awesome. It is only topped a by a slim margin by another Ubisoft game (Ghost Recon: Future Soldier).

I'm looking forward to another great game to play on my PS4. Indie games don't cut it. I've played KILLZONE: Shadow Fall's campaign twice, Need for Speed: Rival--ongoing, inFAMOUS SS twice. I'm hurgery for something new and great.

CRASH TIME

Lots of fun. I believe it got low reviews because the auto reverse worked differently than other games. The manual didn't do a good job explaining it. You have to fully release the brake and reapply the brake for auto reverse to work. Plus there are one or two missions were the mission objective at the start stays on screen for just a second. But there similar to other previous missions, so you'll know what to do.

FUSE

Lots of fun. So what if the graphics weren't the absolute best like Halo 4 or GTA V (on the 7 gen consoles). You get to switch between the four characters in battle and upgrade each with their specialty powers. Lots of fun. No drudgery, the scavenging is minimal and only takes seconds verses many other games. Fun, with little or no down time between the fun (compare that with games like Skyrim or GTA V).

Other games that weren't worthy of their horrible reviews. They weren't great but they were OK: Alpha Protocol and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

@ariabed:

Primarily: I research a game by watching review videos from a few different websites, read several user reviews from a few websites, play a demo if possible, and watch several game play videos if available.

I might do these options too: I might rent if from GameFly or elsewhere. Or if it's an older game, I might buy it used at GameStop and exchange it for something else if I don't like it (I'm not into buying used games too much. I like to support the game developers by buying new).

@BboyStatix:

Press and hold the Right directional button. From there you can select an empty magazine (you have an unlimited supply) that you can throw for a noise distraction.

Always pick up and deposit all bodies in a location out of public view.

Be very careful at all times. It's very easy to go too fast for a few seconds and over look an enemy or camera you didn't see.

Use your binoculars and zoom in to mark all enemies. You can go up one of the watch towers and take out the guard if he's there.

For maximum points, you want to not kill anyone, not cause any alerts, not be spotted by anyone or a camera (triggering reflex mode).

@DigitalDame:

Wow! GameSpot is 18 years old. GameSpot was born in 1996. I didn't know that. I didn't play video games back then. I just read books for recreation. I thought I would never play video games.

Fast forward to 2009 and I became a video gamer. I'm embarrassed and ashamed, but I'm enjoying every minute of it.

I think I first came here in 2009 to watch video reviews. I became a member in 2013.

@matas_0r_not:

Do not buy the PS3 version. Buy the 360 or PC version if you can.

This game will bore you to tears with long walks from A to B and long load times every time, even when you want to just open a door.

If you play video games to have fun, you'll have much more fun playing almost anything else.
