@hella_epic I should really boot up D1 again. Been so long since I've played it.

ITT: People who played Single Player and LAN modes on Diablo 2 and didn't realize closed Battle.net there is EXACTLY the same as D3.

Also known as the irrelevant and small portion of players that Blizzard no longer cares about since they can still sell 6+ million copies of a game in 7 days.

@liam82517 When I read your post, at first I was like:

>:-(

Then you said "sheep" like a neckbeard hipster douche, and I was like:

:D

Seriously, if you want to make a moral statement and support consumer rights, go buy a Volkswagon Superbus, paint it lime green with flowers to match your bell-bottoms and go protest on capital hill. I just want to play a damn video game. And I am, and it's a blast.

Does that piss you off? Want to pet my wool?

No.

I love Street Fighter, but repackaging the 2 most recent entries in the IP (which any self-respecting fan already bought) in a $150.00 landfill fodder package isn't going to inspire any purchasing from me.

The soundtrack is the only thing interesting to me, but again, you can probably get all of that somewhere else a la carte at a fraction of the cost.

If you want to get my attention, pack it up with some unreleased games this gen, like HD alpha series ports or something. This just isn't enough.

Pretty tired of MMOs. This one will really have to be something different to get my attention.

It's not looking very different.

Conglomerates like EA remind that a lot of what's bad with Hollywood is starting to happen with video games.

Costly projects are becoming the norm along with shrinking profitability. The pie shrinks while the number of people at the table keeps growing.

It's getting much harder for anyone to make money in this business (not that it was easy before) and stuff like this doesn't help. SWTOR shouldn't have been an MMO; it didn't need to be one, and probably would've been more successful if it wasn't.

And most likely, Bioware and EA are going to pay for that mistake.

@Purpledust crits the English language for -200007. The English language explodes and dies violently.

@eoj They could have had 100 more beta weekends to address these issues and still had them.

The hindsight is 20/20 argument doesn't hold weight here. People were right to be concerned about hacking with D3 being online only, because this was bound to happen sooner or later.

I say let it happen now and get it out of the way.

@allanpaas So you've never played D2 yourself, but you're willing to proclaim that D3 isn't an improvement?

Do you understand why that sounds incredibly stupid?

@Yulaw2000 See Verner v. Autodesk (2007).

EULA was upheld in federal court over the First-Sale Doctrine.

And before you reply, yes there are examples to support both EULA's and FSD when they clash. But this was a relatively high profile case (judgement from the 9th circuit, which is basically a step under the Supreme Court).
