took 3 years to make gears and its just 8 hours with tacked on onlinedeadmeat59
Well, I've probably logged over 200 hours on that "tacked on" online portion...
Sorry - double post. I agree with Jeff that this game is going to be flooded with annoying 10 year olds for a long time.
Well, if it has - nobody gave me the memo. I play it every day without fail. I may pop in another game here or there, but I always come back to Gears. When the Halo 3 beta came out, I played about 3 games of the beta and then went right back to playing Gears.
I'm still as fired up about the game as I was 10 months ago when it first came out. Can't say that about any other game that I've ever played. I'm at 8,900 kills and should finally get Seriously... in about a month.
[QUOTE="snorlaxmaster"]What? Where you in some kind of fru-fru reality that you didn't think that this stuff happens all the time? I mean, did you really expect devs to take time to make new cars and tracks and put it online for free?? There wasn't even a doubt that Sony would charge......:| I don't understand the problem here. :?snyper1982
The problem is all the cows are now using DC on the issue, when they were ripping on the Lems about this very same thing. They are being hypocrites.
That was my point of the thread. Its happened to us Lemms for almost 2 years now. Its happening to cows now. It'll happen to sheep in the future.
I don't mind paying for extra content - but there is a fine line between paying for something that should/could have been on the retail disk versus something developed after the game's release. The Guitar Hero DLC was a total joke. Those songs were ready prior to release, they were just held back in order to be offered as DLC the same week that the game came out.
That really isn't a what if either. I bought a launch PS3, paid full price, and ended up buying motorstorm as well. Not to mention I bought VF5 which has no online, and it is now coming to the 360 with it. My PS3 experience has pissed me off more than gave me joy. I am going to rent a couple games for it after work today, if I am not happy with them, I am going to seriously contemplate selling this POS. God knows I could use the cash.snyper1982
In that case, I'd strongly recommend renting Genji and Lair.... ;)
The reality of the console business is that every console is going to lower its price, add features, add bundled games, etc. over time. Its just the way it is. Early adopters get to play the system, but also won't get these perks later on. Its a trade off.
[QUOTE="Magical_Guy"]so what ifI bought a launch console and want HDMI on my 360...snyper1982
So what if I bought a launch PS3 and want the $100 that they already knocked off the price of it? And a refund for motorstorm since it is bundled as well?
 Nice comeback.
I can't wait to see what the final model behind Home ends up being. $1 for new clothing, $2 for furniture, $5 for a new apartment, etc. You know that it all isn't going to be free - there is just way too much potential for $ there.
Oh, and to the folks saying that this thread fails because the DLC is optional - you don't see the bigger picture here, do you? If developers/publishers see that gamers are paying big $ for DLC, then they will look to hold back things from the retail version in order to charge for it later on - thus, impacting the retail game. Why add 14 tracks when we can throw in 10 tracks and charge them $5 later for the other 4? Why give them 12 maps when we can give them 8 and charge $10 for the other 4 later on?
To say that this stuff is optional is not looking at the bigger picture with DLC.
6 Bucks is worth 4 new cars and a new track imoR-Dot-Yung
Looks like Sony's already "conditioned" this one...
The fact that anyone says "$6 for 4 new cars and a track is worth it" is just playing into the hands of developers/publishers. They start drooling at the mouth when they hear things like this.
On XBL, MS has "conditioned" us to think that $5 is a good price for 2 new maps, $10 for a map pack, $15 for an expansion pack, $6 for 3 songs, etc., etc., etc.
I am surprised that no Cows came back and declared that all of those things should be free - or that they should have been included in the retail game to begin with.
