Will GEARS 2 be out on 360 in 2008??

there have been rumors of a super huge perfect dark game on 360 in 2008 or 2009,

but the sure fire hit would be gears 2. this game could counterbalance Metal gear somewhat, and the 360 needs it next year.

so my questions are: is cliffy B's gears team part of the UT3 team? and if not, and since gears PC was developed by a different studio owned by epic, is gears already in development and on the 2008 slate?

They "started" the UT3 version for 360 a long time ago. Some XBOX magazine did a preview months and months ago and it looked like it was doing pretty good. Some gaming site even had a video posted of the 360 running and playing it with the controllers but I can't find it anymore.

But even then...you would expect to hear something about Gears 2 by now...I would not be surprised if they announced it at E3 as a 2009 title...unless they show it at GDC or something like that and announce it for fall 2008

From what I know, during GDC or E307, Epic announced that there will be a sequal.

Gears was in production for either 4 or 5 years.

Gimme Gimme SOme PD 2 man.... Gears2 wouldnt be bad too though.. I just dont think it will be out 2008... Gears 2 will be MS 2009 big game together with Mass Effecct 2 and...... lol..

Anyways, I hope Gears2comes in 09 so it has plenty of time to improve in all ways. It was a good game, but it could do a lot better

in an interview on gametrailers, mark rein just laughed and avoided the question when asked if gears would be in 2008. you'd think that if it would be in 09 for sure then he'd say noAwinagainov

OK lots ofuninformedpeople in the thread, so let me clarify some things:

2.UT 3 is already up and running on 360. You guys are getting confused by a statement Mark Rein made about the title "not started yet."in an interview withCVGonline. He cleared up his remarks by claiming its already running, just postponed until 08.

i dont think you will see an 08 release, but there will prolly be a cool trailer at E3
