Why earth would you want to turn off the WEP key? Why on earth are you using WEP?

Apparently someone is unfamiliar with what happens to people who use unsecured wireless networks.

You're right. I'm not familiar. Anyway, I'm just trying to chage the password so that I can hook it up to my PS3. I'm not really a computer geek either so try to descibe it as simply as possible.

what kind of a router u have? u need to log in in order to remove or change the password

for a linksys router

  • Open ur browser and type in//192.168.1.1
  • This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password
  • The username is either blank or "admin" and the default password is "admin"
  • Once you are past the login screen, you are able to access and change configuration options for your router

for a dlink router

  • Open ur browser and type in//192.168.0.1
  • This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password
  • The username is "admin" and the default password is blank (no password)
  • Once you are past the login screen, you are able to access and change configuration options for your router

I have a D-Link router but whenver I type in //192.168.0.1, I get the "This page cannot be displayed" page. Any idea why?

  • make sure the computer u r using is connected (wired) to the router.
  • if u still can't acces ur router, someone may have configured it before and changed the IP address of ur router
  • if u don't know who configured it and u need to change the password, your gonna have to reset ur router back to the original settings
  • there should be a small hole at the back of the router where u can use a paper clip to press that button in order to reset ur router back to the original
  • just remember that reseting it back will leave ur network open so u need to login to the router (from the steps above) and secure it (WEP, WPA, WPA2)

Okay. Thanks!

I'm trying to connect to my home network on my PS3 but I can't because I need to put in the WEP code. I've forgotten what the code was and can't figure out how to turn it off. Any help with turning it off would be appreciated. Thanks in acvance. Oh, and if it matters, I'm on Windows Vista.

I have a PS3 carrying case and it works great. There's enough room for everything unless you have alot of games like me. I just use the GTA4 duffle bag for my games.

It was supposed to come out at the end of last month. However, I don't care for it anyway. News and weather doesn't really matter to me. Nobody uses it on the Wii, so not very many people are probably gunna use it on the PS3.

I know it is sad to say, but Resistance made me like 1st person shooter games....I was very much against most 1st person games and my friend got it with his system at the launch...since then I am a changed person thanks to Resistance....basically what I'm saying is that it's worth the play.Sachman3

That's exactly what happened to me. Before I played Resistance I never liked FPS games, now they're my favourite genre.

Yea, probably. The story in Resistance 2 starts right where Resistance 1 ends.
