They missed the obvious one.

A Republic Commando game by 343 Industries, using the squad mechanics of Halo 5.

Let someone else write the story, just focus on gameplay and environment, and watch the $$$$ come in.

Microsoft has been phoning in the GWG lineup over the last few months. This type of lineup was fine years ago, not now when PS+ players are getting PUBG and Street Fighter V, and just had a monster month with Fall Guys and MW2 Remastered.

Just cancel GWG and make Live cheaper, im sure people would be happier

Halo CE launched in 2001, not 2003.....

Does no one review the work before it's published?

Edit: PS @Gamespot, if you edit an article, mark where you made changes. Its good journalism. Either that, or don't publish articles that have mistakes, and require the commenters to correct you

Why the hell do old articles keep showing up as new in Gamespot's feed? So desperate for clicks?

I remember seeing that article for the new Black Ops every day for a week on this site, and everytime it said something like "3 hours ago".

@HAWK9600: how can you accurately assign value to something without an intent to buy.

For example, someone on Xbox who enjoys Gears of War and Halo could be willing to pay a higher price than someone with no inclination to play those games. Not only are none of these guys fans, they all "predicted" the same price that us keyboard warriors have been "predicting" for the last 3 months.

At this point its just an article saying "it will be $500 and we all think that's bad value because we don't like Xbox games"

Its a fluff piece

Imagine making a price prediction article for a console, and then picking people to write opinions who apparently wouldn't take one if it was free.

Interesting to me that Gamespot thinks you figure out the value of something by asking people who think it is worthless.

Quick note too. If all your "experts" are saying $500, which is what most of the industry has been saying up until this point, then its not a prediction. Its us as gamers setting the price expectation and telling MS to match that expectation or face the consequences like the PS3. Just write the article about that.

@johnny0779: Its only natural. The best selling console of all time, and will never be caught, is the PS2. Those kids grew up to be video game journalists and buy their kids PS(insert number here). They played the series and developed a loyalty. But as journalists, its expected that you should recognize that bias and seek to alleviate it. Try something like IGN, where you hire a dedicated Xbox team.

@afromakka: Sony has abandoned the fun, creative, and quirky games that made them popular (Jax and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Shadow of Colossus) to make narrative driven games with DECENT mechanics.

Narrative is important in games, and I understand that, but somewhere along the line, critics and reviewers started caring more about story than how the game plays. The Uncharted series, TLOU, and even stuff like Horizon Zero Dawn are all great STORY games with (IMO) sub-par gameplay, but fall right into that classic 10/10 reviewer playbook. Why that should be better than something like Gears of War, which has fantastic gameplay but sub-par story, is beyond me. These are video games, not movies.

I will say that now that God of War and Spiderman are out, I have lots of faith in Sony putting out games both narratively and technically sound. Im also excited for the return of Sucker Punch after 6 years.
