Whichever company is able to put out a cheap, slim version of their console (obviously not an easy thing to do) will see a huge surge in their numbers and win this generation. I am a launch 360 owner and would immediately buy a smaller, quieter, cooler 360 (or PS3).

Nintendo cheated by starting with a slim, beautiful console. I liken it to the IPOD when it first came out which IMHO was not the best MP3 player around; Creative and Rio players were better in almost every category aside from beauty and industrial design. When it comes to consumer electronics style goes a long way.

I think particularly the XBOX 360 is just an ugly, heavy, noisy console and could really benefit from a design reboot.

Is anyone familiar with the insides of the XBOX360 / PS3? How feasible are slim versions of these consoles? I've read that both consoles now have 65nm chips.

I think Starcraft (including Brood War as well) is certainly not overrated, and really can be considered one of the greatest games of all time. I consider RTS games my favorite genre and can easily say that Starcraft was, and still is, the best expression of the genre. The near perfect balancing of macro, micro, and the 3 races are what seperate it from other RTS games. I've actually thought that for quite some time the Command and Conquer games were a bit overrated, never feeling as tight as I'd like them to. The last one I played was Tiberium Wars and I felt that too was a bit underwhelming and poorly balanced.

On a side note, I think AOE II and it's expansion come in second to Starcraft. Obviously this is all in my humble opinion.

Hey there,

I was considering buying Fallout 1 & 2 for PC.  I feel like they were great games that I missed for one reason or another.  Is it worth my gaming time to go back and play these games, or will they just feel and play too old for me to get much enjoyment out of them?

 Thanks
