@PJthePlayer2 I agree. The references to the original ALIEN movie were amazing. And they were delivered in all ranges, from grand, to small details like how some androids will do that warm up little sprint move that Ash does in the film.
I can understand some people hating the whole alien stalking mechanic. But I don't think it could have been done any other way. The alien is always there and you will hate it for it. You have to survive it, just like in the movies.
The bad thing about this game is that you have to play a certain way to beat the high difficulty. Basically, the way the programmers want you to play. If you try to come up with your own strategy, or doing things differently, then you're gonna get destroyed.
This is the reason it bombed in Japan. Hard games are great, but if you can't even beat the game due to your own ingenuity in a strategy game, then what's the point.
I'm glad DANGAN-RONPA is getting an western release, even if it wasn't for the original platform. I've finished both games, and my only complaint is that the clues are so evident to the player yet not for the characters that it's just silly. It feels like they were put only as an excuse to extend the character dialogue and trial events.
I completed the game 100% in just a few hours (20-30 mins per playthrough). It is very short.
The game is fun but it's lacking a certain layer of depth to be truly worthwhile. In the end it feels more like the bonus stages from one of Suda51 games, rather than a stand-alone arcade game.
