Ps3 cases look so stupid on a shelf with DVDs and PC games, why they decided to make them a different height to almost every other disk case on the planet is beyond me. They look so out of place on a shelf when everything else lines up perfectly
I disagree, there is plenty of detail in the halo universe, you don't have to kill it to do something new. You just have to take a risk and go in a different direction. Though I do admit these halo games will probably wind up looking more like cash ins, the point is, they don't have to be.
I'll ask this again, how else can they do it? The system is based around having an instant game library that doesn't require a disk, the pass system is a result of that, not as a result of them specifically setting out to create a DRM scheme.
The system they are setting up is rumoured to be some sort of trading system, although if they don't create something like this it could be a big issue.
That's a pretty silly thing to say, how is launching a console with full support and backing a bad thing? It's what made the 360 the uncontested best console up until 2010. I'd much rather they drop 360 support and focus on the new system if they're going to ask me to pay £300 for it.
I remember reading recently that the top 20% most prolific pirates, responsible for 80% of illegal downloads, spend 300% more on content than people who don't pirate.
If you're buying 1 game a month it's relatively easy to fork the cash, But when you're buying more it's just not viable to go around throwing £40-£50 at games that could very well be completely deceptively marketed, like Aliens:CM as an example.
Companies like CD Projekt Red have the right idea. If you are dedicated to making a good game, piracy and DRM is not something you should have to worry about.
