@medseven That's because it is. Super Probotector was the title given to Contra when it was released in Europe due to the Iran-Contra controversy. The main cha factors were also changed from (human) soldiers into robots, likely due to worries about violence.

@bunchanumbers @Gelugon_baat Who ever said that their ties to the Yakuza were ever cut? I mean, where do you think Ken Kutaragi went?

Carolyn Petit and Tom McShea are the Fox News of Gamespot reviewers.

@delta5931 Honestly, I had a feeling it was either her or McShea reviewing when I saw the game and the score. Those two reviewers seem to exist solely for the purpose of trolling readers and starting flame wars, and to be honest, they are chief among the reasons why I do not visit this site as much as I used to, because it honestly feels like their reviews have become uninformed to a degree, which makes them meaningless (remember how McShea couldn't even figure out how to play Skyward Sword and blamed the game?). Personally, I think both of these reviewers should be fired, but as long as they keep starting flame wars and earning hits, I doubt that will ever happen. Oh well, it's not like visiting other sites is too big of a problem: I'll take Jim Sterling's disturbingly accurate review of Beyond: Two Souls over McShea's sellout endorsement any day.

@GTAVonPS3 No, but better control options and smoother gameplay does, al la the increased FPS. Also, Dark Souls main issue is that it is locked at 30 fps. 60 FPS is just far more fluid for gameplay, which is why most fighting games are designed to run at 60 FPS. Unless the game is terribly ported, lacks players (if online), or is exclusive (which bars it from being on PC), PC is the superior platform.

Guess what, since Destiny is a shooter, I WOULD rather play it on PC because analog shooter controls are garbage blatantly held together by copious amounts of auto aim and aim assist. Whether playing Bionic Commando: Rearmed on a controller, SSF4AE on a tourney fightstick, or Battlefield and Chivalry on mouse and keyboard, PC is a pretty great platform for just about everything.

@brainiac1988 @Diegoctba What are you talking about? Metroid Prime 3 was first person like the other two--I think you're thinking about Metroid: Other M.

To be honest, though, I actually liked the return to 3rd person and the speed which came with it. For me, Other M marked the return of the ninja-like Samus I so fondly remember from Super Metroid.

@Thanatos2k @LittleMac19 Don't even go there. Hating on Majora's Mask is like burning a cross in front of church or murdering a cow in front of a Hindu: you just don't fucking do it.

@Halloll Which, is, itself a Super Nintendo controller with an extra shoulder row and analogs under the D-pad and buttons. Come to think of it, just how long has that damn thing been alive?

Think about this for a second: just about every controller afterwards has had four buttons in a diamond on the right side, a d-pad on the left side, and shoulders, with the main differences between the controllers being the position of the analogs. Sometimes both analog sticks are below the buttons and d-pad and are closer to the center, sometimes they are both above and closer to the controller edges, and sometimes the left analog is above the d-pad and close to the edge but the right analog is below the buttons and close to the center.

Fucking weird.

@dummpymonkey123 People seem to forget the simple fact that rendering natively in 1080p requires significantly more hardware resources than rendering in 720p. For the Wii U to pull this off, it cannot possibly be as weak as people assume it to be, though it will not be as strong as its competition.

Personally, I expect the differences between PC and Console to greatly overshadow the differences between the consoles themselves. Though their hardware is better, the PS4 and X1 are still well behind on their own specs compared to currently available technology for PC. Perhaps if their developers waited a little longer for the next generation of GPUs (available now) before finalizing their designs, they could have prevented this, but as it stands, every one of these consoles is mid-end at best, and obsolete at worst in terms of hardware.

@naji2014 The third example is not only completely wrong, but rather offensive. Do you even know how long Donkey Kong Country has been dead for? Donkey Kong Country Returns on the Wii was a HUGE FUCKING DEAL: not only was a basically dead franchise revived, but it was changed and enhanced to a ridiculous extent.

Returns probably has some of the best platforming mechanics ever made: it is one of very few 2D platformers that manages to successfully integrate ANALOG CONTROLS into gameplay (it plays better on an analog stick THAN A D-PAD!), and has smooth controls overall (the ONLY problem is the remote shake). The music, atmosphere, and overall graphic design is incredible, bringing back the nostalgia of the original series while adding its own unique charm.

A sequel that plans to take what DKC:R gave us and enhance it further should be one hell of a sequel.
