@Mugzippit @franman781 I doubt that cross-platform play could be balanced even if it were to happen: the 3DS has good controls, but they are nowhere on the level of control options available to the Wii U, such as classic controllers, pro controllers, and modded Gamecube controllers. An optional, Wii U compatible Gamecube controller might even be in the works. In essence, even if cross-platform play were to work somehow, the balance would be heavily skewed by the 3DS's limited control options.

@ArcoBlanco Another Starfox is fine, but please, never mention DK 64 again. I've beaten it, but I could never really enjoy it like the rest of the Donkey Kong Country series (played 1 and 2 [Screech's Sprint]): there is just too much character switching involved when it comes to actually being able to progress. It felt overdrawn. Personally, I prefer what Retro is doing with Country (reviving the good, 2D franchise) to the idea of another drawn out 3D platformer in the style of DK 64. I'm fine if they manage to make a GOOD 3D Donkey Kong, but I could never support another DK 64.

@lusitanogamer If you really love it, then perhaps you should reconsider obtaining that platform. Given that Nintendo has the publishing rights, I doubt it will see other platforms any time soon.

@Darrius_Cole You're right, Platinum should bribe the other publishers who REFUSED their proposal for a second Bayonetta, as opposed to working with Nintendo, who, by the way, was the ONLY COMPANY willing to purchase the publishing rights. It's not like they would be spurning the generosity which has allowed the franchise to continue. Oh, wait…

@olegavi323 Because Nintendo OWNS the exclusive rights to publish Bayonetta 2. No one else is legally allowed to publish it. Ergo, it's going to be a Nintendo exclusive, so deal with it, it's theirs, and, given their history, it's going to remain theirs. Sony, Microsoft, and Sega had their chance at the publishing rights, but refused them. Nintendo just did what any good company in competition would do: it took advantage of its competitor's mistakes.

@DiamondDM13 @Lambchopzin @innocent69 @teufelherz Unlikely. Last time I checked, Nintendo doesn't just hand out its franchises like candy: once they have their grip on a franchise, it never leaves them. Hell, Samus was almost a character in Marvel Ultimate Alliance, but this was scrapped when a build with Samus was shown to run on a competitor's hardware.

Since they bought the exclusive rights, Bayonetta is theirs, period. On the bright side, the acquisition of these rights may set a precedent for Nintendo to diversify their exclusive franchises.

I kind-of hope Crono (from Chrono Trigger) is added, given that Chrono Trigger was, for the most part, a Nintendo exclusive Square game (with the exception of the little known PSX port). I'd love to see Chrono Trigger receive more recognition, and perhaps another game as a result (haven't played Chrono Cross, but I am sure many would like to see another title based on Chrono Trigger).

@MrJoker6688 I disagree. After what Retro Studios has done to revive Donkey Kong Country, I doubt that Nintendo could so easily trust the franchise to any other team. Retro Studios has not only brought Donkey Kong back, they have improved it (with smoother mechanics [discounting the shake roll]). They may very well be the only team qualified for the job of making a sequel which can live up to the standard which DKC:R set for the series.

@MaximumPorkchop I have a feeling, based on the lack of altered character models (which Smash tends to do between sequels), that this is no indication of the full game, but rather, a build of Brawl with Megaman added in.

I wonder how the inclusion of Namco as a developer will differentiate this entry from the rest. Unlike many, I actually preferred the mechanics of Brawl (except tripping, that was dumb) over Melee, since they were not as easily abused (unstoppable Ice Climbers and infinite air attack traps due to R-cancel). However, Brawl still had certain imbalances (Pit and Metaknight mostly come to mind), and my main hope is that Namco's involvement will make this entry more balanced than the one's before it. No more underpowered characters (Pichu, Bowser, etc…) and no more instant win characters/situation bullshit (Metaknight, Sonic's Final Smash).

Any properly done changes which add depth to the franchise without removing any of its charm are welcomed, but, in the end, I really hope that this entry is the one which enforces a greater balance.

@k16campbell I've got both, sick! Soon I will be able to practice Smash all day, every day!
