I think what all you Sony Fanboys need to realise, is that alright, 360s backwards compatability does leave some of the better games off its playlist. However, Microsoft was straight about it all along. They always said it was going to be limited and some of the better selling games.

Now the PS3, in other countries, plays 98% of games, and as far as average joe is concerned still does in the PAL region. How pissed off do you think the mainstream public are going to be when they find out they (maybe) cant play some of their need for speeds, prince of persias or splinter cells.

Get real, you cant spin this. Even if they own a PS2, alot of people with HDTVs would have appreciated playing their old games through a HD cable. And dont say they can get a component cable for the PS2. I have one, but it was hard to find and the results vary from game to game.

This is nothing but a bad thing for the Euro gamers. Unless you are on Sonys payroll, how can you possibly defend this?

Hi

I used to work at my local Gamestation in town up until the beginning of January so I obviously know the staff. So I went in today and got talking about the usual games and the PS3 came up. The staff member is the Assistant Manager.

The conversation went like this:

Me: "Many PS3 orders then?"
Staff Member: "No not really, only had about 40"
"Really?"
"Yea, we havnt had a new Pre order for over a week now"
"How many did we get for the Wii I cant remember now"
"Over a hundred" (at this point I remember a list that went to about 130, because I had to ring people up to let them know their console had arrived in stock)
"What about the 360"
"About a hundred. People have basically been finding it hard to justify £540 (Thats about $1000, they sell bundles) for a console with 1 decent game (assume he meant Resistance) that the 360 or Wii hasnt got. [The new manager] has got his name first on the list at [other branch] but he dosnt want one now. I do, but Id rather get a HDTV for my 360 than a PS3"

It didnt quite flow like that, comes off a little cheesy too but forgive me for not remembering it word for word lol.

My town is the second/first biggest town outside of one of the major cities in Britain, and I know how busy the store can get as an ex-empolyee.

Looks like the 40 odd were just early adopter fanboys. 40 is definatly not general public territory. Especially when you still cant buy a Wii off the shelves in most stores in Britain including this said store (still taking pre orders for the new shipments!)

I also remember that Woolworths (huge chain of stores over here) announced they were getting a pre order something like every 20 seconds, then somebody did the maths of how many stores they had, and how long they had been taking pre orders and it only came to 15,000 and something. Which for a major shopping company is nothing.

Discuss.
