I am on level 3 and have found the piano in the Nursary and I am trying to figure out what tune I am suppose to play on the piano. I have gone up and down looking for a clue and have come up with nothing. Also I saw the shotgun in the First level but it was locked in a case, was anyone able to get it or is it something you get a key for later. So far I have the flashlight, nightstick, and handgun. I have to say though so far this game is awesome!!!!

LORDDICE1

There is a book outside the room on the chair that tells you what keys are what...the notes you play are right over the piano on the wall

I thought Dementium was coming out on the 31st of October? How come you have it. Thats not fair. I want it to.

philipskater

It was moved up to the 26th

For everyone tht has played the game:

Is it as good as you expected and how much would you rate it?

philipskater

It's great...better than I expected because I went in with low expectations...I haven't finished it yet, but so far I'll say an 8.5

Thank you very much, Ashes... in a board filled with numb-nut trolls and one-word replies, your posts are always refreshingly informative. I'll be watching this thread to see how the game pans out for you, I want to buy the game but I just got "Race Driver Create & Race" which is hogging screen time as well as disposable income for the month. I'll have to wait until next pay period - The girlfriend understands $30 or so a month on a new or used game as well as hours lost to it socially, but I think she'd have my scrot for wearing headphones after lights-out.

Still, thanks again and I will be waiting for your review!!!

Thanks for the kind words...I've been playing it in little bits (Castlevania for the PSP has my attention at the moment) and I'm worried I'll finish it too quickly. I'm sure I'll settle back with it this evening and give it a good run.

Wow. Man, you're awesome. The ward sounds awesome, thanks for the info. I'll be picking one up as soon as I'm not completely and utterly poor.

Also, I agree about the head phones thing. It does make a real difference. Hell, it made Touch the Dead partially enjoyable too.

Hells_Hammer

Again, thank you for the kind words...don't let anyone ruin the experience for you...keep away from spoilers until you have a chance to pick this one up! I'm not going to say it's Game Of The Year material, but it sure is a great change from all the Marios, virtual-pets, and puzzle games that have (dare I say?) cluttered the system for the past years. I love my DS collection, but this is one game that has changed how I look at the system. Now that it has been done once, hopefully this will usher in a new breed of designers and adult titles. Let's face it, Touch the Dead and Resident Evil were not "adult" enough; even with the zombies and "gore". This one really could be the beginning of something really good for the system.

Oh, I almost forgot! The release was pushed up, so it's ok that stores are selling it. I haven't heard WHY it was changed, but a couple of theoriesare that A.) Didn't want to compete with Manhunt 2 for Halloween; and B.) If theshipping date was Oct. 31st, then most stores wouldn't get it until Nov. 1st. Just an idea...sorry if your area hasn't released it yet...

Sorry about not replying sooner...I'm dividing my time between Dementium, Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles, a broken water heater, bad weather, and my girlfriend. Needless to say, I've been busy.

So here we go...I played the first couple of chapeters, which isn't saying much since it only took a couple of minutes to do that much. The chapters are REALLY short in the beginning. I don't know yet if they get longer or not. I did a test-run through the first two chapters and they could be completed in 12-15 minutes depending on how much you explore the levels. I wouldn't let this deter you from the game though...it plays a lot like Metroid Prime Hunters.

Controls: Really simple set-up...you can change it for right or left-handed players; D-pad (or A,B,X,Y) for movement; L (or R) for using weapons and turning on and off the flashlight; touch screen to look and aim; an interact (examine, open, etc.)button pops up at the top of the touch screen when you find an item or something to examine; the map, notepad, items, weapons, and options are all accessable from the touch screen...all made fairly simple to pick-up-and-play.

Gameplay: I'd say it's quite smooth. The touch screen is quite responsive, but I do forsee some of the same issues I had with MP:H, Goldeneye Rouge Agent, and Brothers In Arms DS; quick turning. Since the touch screen is used to look around, it makes it difficult to turn 180 degrees very quickly. That aside, the control set-up and touch screen interfaces make it really easy to switch weapons, interact with objects (doors and items), and make in-game notes (the notepad is used like Hotel Dusk or the map in Zelda: Phantom Hourglass).

Overall: I'm not going to give too many impressions just yet seeing as I've only gone through a few very short chapters, but I really have enjoyed what I've experienced so far. I intend on writing a full review once I've completed the game.

Speculation:There were a lot of health items in the first chapter so hopefully this means you'll be backtracking through the levels in order to progress...the map you collect in the beginning shows a large floor with many rooms that are unaccessable in the beginning. It also shows a "west wing" that I have not seen yet. And seeing how you start the game on the 7th floor, this could mean that there are many floors below you (basement levels too?) and another wing of the hospital to explore. So far the progression has been somewhat linear, but it may open up in future levels.

Finally, I have to recommend that this game be played with headphones. Enjoy!

I just called GameStop and Dementium is now available...and I have a theory that it was pushed up to avoid competing with Manhunt 2 next week. Well, I'm off to pick it up...

[QUOTE="MarkedByAshes"]

Mega Man Collection - Capcom seemed to forget about us GBA and DS owners when it came time to release the 20th Anniversary collections...

Hells_Hammer

Yeah, this is great because a little more than a year ago my local eb games took a preorder payment from me for the original gameboy mega man collection. It was pushed back like 4 times...then finally scrapped.

It would be pretty easy to just convert all the ports to one cart...they almost did it for GBA, why not DS?

Exactly...I had to collect on my deposit as well. I love the Mega Man Powered Up for the PSP, so I'm hoping they'll continue with that series. I like the ZX and Starforce games, but I was playing Mega Man from the original...I want my old-school 2D side-scroller with big, bright graphics, trite story line, and huge boss battles. Having the touch screen would make weapon selection a snap. Capcom needs to quit with the "new directions" for the series and go back to the roots.
