You know, I was very much against the Go when it was announced, but now, I have one and I'm very pleased with it. It all depends on how you play games...when I was collecting games, I wanted box art and perfect discs. Now, I have less money to spend on collecting and would rather just enjoy them instead of seeing the boxes sitting on a shelf getting dusty. I also picked up a used Go in perfect condition (even had a screen guard on it) for $150...which I used my old PSP 1000 and a few games to trade for. Take into account exactly what games you want to play and find out what is available on the network and readily available in stores. Either way, you're going to get a great system and have access to some fantastic titles.

About time there was a good challenge on the DS. One thing I'm worried about is that the same kids (and reviewers) who complained about the save system in Dementium are going to be crying about how unforgiving this game is. I LOVE it. I want something that is going to take a while to learn and play through. This is definately going to require skill...something kids are seriously lacking these days. This is pure old-school at it's finest and I'm happier than Michael Jackson left unsupervised in the Toys R Us.

I have a theory that the DS version was done rather than a PSP version because the DS got really bad reviews last time and there were problems with it. I think this is their way of making it up to those who felt shafted by that earlier edition. Just a theory...but I'mloving the newedition so far.And I still intend on getting the 360 version. :D

Well, here I am sitting at a computer at 5am...why? Because I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep. So what do I do? Take advantage of a dark, quiet house. I cracked open my brand new copy of Silent Hill Origins and plugged in my headphones. After an hour of play, here's what I have to say (so far)...

Sound - As with every Silent Hill, this is one of the most important factors in making or breaking a survival-horror game. Music is added in just the right places, and when it comes in, it fits the mood and/or scene. The ambient noise is also fantastic.

Graphics - This gameis BEAUTIFUL (for adirty little town covered in blood, rust, and fog). This is how it's done. I hope more developerstake note of how great you can make a game look on the PSP and not sacrifice anything.

Gameplay - Damn, this is top-notch! Easy topick up and play if you are a Silent Hill veteran. I know there are people who are going to complain about the classic Silent Hill/Resident Evil control scheme (up makes your character go forward) and breakable weapons, butthe controls have workedso well for so long, why mess with perfection? Andbreakable weaponsmake it more imperative that you conserve.

Value - $30? Hell yeah! I would have paid $40-50 for this game! Worth every penny!

Final words - You won't believe how awesome this game is in every aspect. I have been waiting for thisfrom the day it was originally announced (about 2 years ago I think) and have been watching it go through the development process. It was well worth the wait and I hope they do many more on the PSP.

(Full review to be posted upon completion of the game.)

Best PSP game to date...I don't think it needs any other review than that

I've just spent about an hour playing and I LOVE IT! This is probably one of the best titles for the PSP and I would even go so far as to say it's my pick for PSP Game Of The Year. The sound is outstanding, the graphics are beautiful (for a dirty, rusted, bloody mess of a town) and the gameplay is top notch. If you like Silent Hill or even if you've only thought about trying out a survival-horror title, this is a must-buy.

I picked it up last night and had just enough time to play around in the cantina...I know it'snot really enough to write a review on, but it was nice to see that they're trying to keep up with the handhelds. I would, however, have liked to see the graphics a bit sharper. They're Legos...they should have sharp edges...the character icon in the top left corner was sharp and looked great, but the rest of the graphics seemed fuzzy. The movement seemed a bit slow and clunky, but didn't we have to deal with that on the original release of Lego Star Wars? It has its faults, but it also has its charm. I'm going to enjoy it but I don't see it getting high marks when GS finally reviews it.

I think everyone knows that GameSpot will bow to the masses and give DS GOTY to Zelda: PH, but FF12 Revinant Wings will be my second guess ONLY because it has the Final Fantasy name attached to it. It's looking too much like the horrendous ManaDS titles for me to even be interested but anyone in the industry thatbad-mouths a Final Fantasy title is shunned as a heretic. Hell, I posted my honest review of Knights Of The Old Republic and I got moderated by GameSpot because someone accused me of trolling. I've got news for you...the industry mainstays will always get the GOTY over some great new title. Look at the latest issue of Game Informer magazine...Halo 3 and Mass Effect got the EXACT SAME score and of course Halo 3 got Game Of The Month. Why? Because it's EXPECTED BY THE CONSUMER. If Halo 3 DIDN'T get GOTM, people would have raised hell. Same thing will happen here...if FF or Zelda doesn't grab DS GOTY, there are going to be thousands of little lemmings ranting about it. The only edge Zelda has over FF is that it's out a lot earlier. Otherwise it would be a close race if they had been on the market for the same amount of time. Don't get your hopes up for Luminous Arc or Dementium to get mentioned...

As often as I have the money to do so...lately I've been buying more DS games, but I was on a rampage for a while buying PSP titles left and right. Dementium and Puzzle Quest have re-lit the DS's fire for me. Now if I could just get time to play Zelda: PH...
