Some people don't seem to get it... there's no 'bubble' at all, people have always wanted to play sequels to truly great games that for some reason or other never got made. Or simply classic adventure games and RPGs, just to name 2 niche genres in which so called AAA publishers aren't interested. I don't see how that's a 'bubble' that can be 'burst'.

If you were born in '79 you should know this.

Damn, I saw the first 10 seconds of gameplay and thought 'hey! they actually fixed that horrible AI and slow xenos!' But then I realized it was multiplayer, lol.

I don't get what you're saying, your description of how you feel corresponds to a game experience where no magical health regeneration is involved.

How can the experience be more intense if you know that your health will come back up on its own? Where the only way you can die is by standing still in the open sucking bullets?

Well, there should be a balance of course, that's out of the question. It's a video game after all, and if realism is its premise, that doesn't mean that your character has to sleep 8 real hours a day, have 3 meals, showers, go to the toilet, etc... It's as ridiculous as health regeneration, again, if realism is the premise. And I do believe realism is an inherent quality if we're talking about military shooters.

In Operation Flashpoint you take 1 - 2 shots and you're as dead as Donald Trump's hair.

Military shooters are meant to be as realistic as they can be. You have the realistic weaponry, the realistic settings, but the actual gameplay is marred by stupid un-realistic mechanics. It just makes no sense.

Military shooters should be like Operation Flashpoint (only the first one) and the ArmA series. Health regen is an abomination, but if it must exist because people insist on playing FPS with a controller (now how stupid is that!) then it should be limited to shooters like Painkiller, Crysis (suit) and Deus Ex (augmentations).

Yeah, if I remember correctly this stupid mechanic was introduced in CoD 2.

And I don't know which Fisher you are talking about, because the guy in the trailer looks younger than Sam and he doesn't sound ANYTHING like Mike Ironside.
