Games I "need to finish": Demon Souls, Skyrim, Red Dead, L.A. Noire, Dishonored, Dead Nation, GTAV, Fallout 3 GOTY, The Last of Us, Splinter Cell HD Trilogy, MGS HD collection, Borderlands 2, Mass Effect Trilogy, Killzone Trilogy, Resistance Trilogy, Hitman HD Trilogy, Kingdoms of Amular, Saints Row 3, 4, Diablo 3...
and these are just on my ps3. I also have 360, and ps4. And Dark Souls 2 is next week. And all those games listed represent less than 1/3 of all the games I physically own. My friends say I should just trade in all but ps4 for an xb1 with Titanfall and never look back.
Loved Skyrim, but not going to pay $180 a year to play anything no matter what it is. Make a new Elder Scrolls game for ps4/xb1 and I'll be all over that shit. Plus, I don't want an mmo. I need a finite game that I can finish.
I cut my online multiplayer teeth on my 360 from '07-'13, so I totally understand where you're coming from, although I was 26 in '07 so I'm sure it would have been more deep seeded if I had grown up with the 360. I grew up on Sega Master System II, Sega Genesis, and PS2. As a consumer you are doing yourself a disservice by being brand loyal or nostalgic about a particular product because of emotional attachment. As I've grown older I've experienced that letting things go when something better comes along is a natural part of years passing by. I'm not saying that ps4 is better than xb one, because they're close enough that it's mostly just personal preference.
As to my original statement, all I was trying to say was that anyone coming from xbox to ps4 won't have much trouble adapting to the ds4, unlike the ds3 which felt completely alien to anyone used to xbox and never owned a ps2.
XB One or PS4, either way you'll still be having fun.
1) a fraction of the population is not the same as a fraction of the population that's interested in gaming
2) "there's no market for consoles" is a ridiculous statement. BILLIONS in revenue from consoles, games, and peripherals. The fact that the market is so competitive is the reason that other companies have such a hard time getting in on the action. Is that what you were trying to say?
