This game looks like your basic eye candy release game for the QTE oooos and aaaahs of the "casual gamer". The sheeple get this, but I can't get Dark Souls II on next-gen? God dammit.
Ryse strikes me as one of those release games that looks great but has luke warm gameplay at best, like a game for "casual gamers". IDK, I could be wrong, just saying.

I started playing xbl in October of '07. Cut my teeth on COD, BF, and all the other big shoot'em up titles. Never had any interest in rpgs what so ever. Last winter, cabin fever set in, and I set out to find a "challenge". I heard rumors about this super hard game, so I thought I'd give it a try, even though rpg wasn't my thing. I even sprung for the hard back guide (beautiful, btw). Conclusion- Dark Souls = Best Game Ever Made. If they make a sequel, and I pray that they do, I will literaly pee down my leg at the mention of any release date. So naturally, I am super psyched about this dlc. Also, as my first rpg experience, it really did set the bar rediculously high for all future expectations. Kingdoms of Ama..what?? Please.
Man, people sure do love to complain. Are we being milked by money grubbing execs? Yeah, probably. Do people have a right to complain? Of course. What are we gonna do? I'm gonna keep playing BF3 because it's f*#king fun. I bought the Premium DLC, and I really enjoyed it. The close quarters is a nice change of pace, and absolutely love the REDICULOUS amount of guns I have to choose from now. If you love BF, chances are you'll find it $ well spent. If not, go play something else you like better. If none of that is good enough for you, then open your own studio, develope your own game, give away all your DLC for free, and see how well that works out for you.
