why in gods name would u upgrade to a 12gb corsair dominator kit?

ionusX
Because he has a motherboard that uses triple channel RAM for starters. Secondly there is no mention that his PC is used purely for gaming... there are a hell of a lot of progs that will make use of 12gb+ RAM. Just because gaming isn't one of them for the most part doesn't mean 12gb is a waste. Regarding the OP, the kit you've been recommended runs at 1600mhz (PC3-12800) and that can be run at it's rated speed on an X58 chipset board without overclocking your CPU. Just go into the BIOS, enable XMP and the PC will set the RAM at it's optimal speed, voltage and timings. However, if you're going to be upgrading your motherboard next year, it will certainly not be using triple channel RAM, it'll be using either dual or quad channel (quad if you get an X79 chipset board, dual if you get any other), so it could be a better idea to wait until after you have upgraded your motherboard before adding more RAM. The 6gb you have at the moment isn't depriving your system much so it's not a vital upgrade right now.

[QUOTE="Lukozer"]My playing times are a lot lower than most on here, but here goes... 1. Might & Magic Heroes VI - 259 hours xsubtownerx
How did you get steam to count the hours? Mine keeps saying 15 minutes which i figured was caused by Uplay interfering.

I simply did it the same way as i do with all titles, view your own Steam profile, go to Games Owned, the click on the All Games tab. The games are listed in the order of hours on record, from highest to lowest.

A timeless classic game, you'll love whichever version you get. Since you don't like using kb and mouse, that makes the choice pretty clear cut.

There have been many occasions when I've bought a game in a Steam sale and then not played it for ages, in some cases years. They tend to be one extreme or the other, either so good I wish i'd played them the moment I bought them (Dragon Age springs to mind) or so dreadful I wish i'd never bought it at all (The Witcher). Shock horror, with the recent Steam sale I've done the same again and suspect there are a few there that I won't actualy start up for a while... I never learn!

If you don't plan on overclocking then simply use the stock HSF that comes with the CPU. But this leads to an obvious question, if you're not planning on overclocking, why are you getting a 2500K CPU? Save some money and get the standard 2500. Why pay the extra for the K edition and then not overclock it?

Shift, by quite some distance, even though there are plenty of other good NFS titles. Shift just seemed to get everything right. I don't see the need for storylines in racing games... graphically it was fine... i loved the engine sounds, they were bang on... had a good balance of driver aidsdepending on whetheryou wanted just a simple pick-up-and-play arcade game, or a much more realistic racing sim-type game. Just a shame Shift 2 didn't quite nail it for me in the same way.

No votes for Carbon or ProStreet... there's a shocker...
