What is wrong with you people? You act as though there is no such thing as the phenomenally popular TrackIR already in existence. Trust me, TrackIR on the PC works extremely well and once you experience it, it is impossible to go back. It's not "distracting" in the least. It just feels natural - you turn your head to look around, just like in the real world.
Sure, true VR is better, but head-tracking works perfectly well.
If you think head tracking, via TrackIR, is annoying on PC then you are truly one in a million. The vast majority of players would never play a flight simulation, FPS, or racing game again without it. There's a reason it's so popular, and if Kinect can replicate the experience without the headgear that TrackIR requires then it will become a big differentiator between XBOX ONE and PS4.
He didn't say that there weren't HD projectors. He said that there aren't any that are HD, long-lasting, and cheap. Depending on your definition of cheap, he's right about that. Plus, projector bulbs are very expensive and have pretty short lifespans.
I wouldn't care, but given how the anti-Microsoft folks whine like little babies about $100 for Kinect, I can only imagine their complaining about this.
