[QUOTE="GoldfishDave"][QUOTE="TheShadowLord07"]Oh woops. I meant "No." I saw the "will it b/c?" and that answer is "Yes," but not as far back as the GBA. Only backwards compatible with DS. Ouch. That sucks for Pokemon players who want to port their stuff Yeah thats why I just recommend ppl who still want the interaction between DS and GBA pokemon to just wait for the 3DS' release, and then pick up a used DS lite if they don't have one. They'll be hella cheap by thenCan I play games like pokemon emerald on the 3DS? like will it b/c?

You really believe this? The DS is still utterly crushing the PSP in Japan. It's won a few weeks but the DS is still 140k units ahead this year.[QUOTE="oldkingallant"][QUOTE="hakanakumono"]
PSP is continually getting stronger with more and more Japanese titles being announced for it. The star of the Japanese market right now is the PSP and many Japanese developers are shifting projects to it.
I doubt Sony will replace it now.

140k units ahead of what number? PSP is still a juggernaut in Japan, and is outselling the Wii, PS3, and 360 alike. Moreover, a wealth of Japanese titles are being developed for the PSP now. Companies like Marvelous are claiming that it's the most profitable platform (in the east).
Its good to see Sony still has major support for the PSP internationally, but here in the states people are easily impressed by by flashyness (which the PSP has hence it's original success) and well placed gimmicks (first the DS' touch screen now the addition of 3D). The 3DS has both. It looks cool, is supposedly technically superior to the PSP and it has the much over hyped gimmicks. Not to say the 3D is unnecessary or the PSP has no chance against it, I just anticipate a dramatic shift to focus on the 3DS because now the technical limitations of the DS have been voided and the current hype behind the 3DS (not to mention the big name announced titles) shows huge interest in the console by developers before its release date/price are even announced.I have to agree with the above. Competition drives the industry. Without the PS3 where would the 360 or the Wii be? And via versa. As companies currently are, the quality of any single game console (and games for that matter) would drop exponentially. No, there will be at least two consoles.
But I gotta be honest, it seems to me that MS is slowly leaving the console market at least for the core crowd.

[QUOTE="Nintendo_Ownes7"]Unless they try not to compete with Nintendo head on but they will try to compete in a different Market like the rumour of a PSP Phone. They'll still get raped, the Iphone is the DS of that industry. I saw that to, as a matter of fact it right here http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/11/exclusive-sony-ericsson-to-introduce-android-3-0-gaming-platfor/ However I do agree that they will be foolhardy to believe they will have better success against the iphone than the DS (at least initially) if they go this route.[QUOTE="VendettaRed07"]
It would be pointless to announce it then. If sony is going to wait that long they shouldnt even bother. Nintendo will have such a lead the psp2 will be totally DOA
