Man there were a string of games..

as a little kid i loved playing two games

Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country on the SNES

I did really like Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, and Star Fox 64... but after that the N64 wasn't doing it for me anymore...

Another game that kept me going was when i got a PS2, and i picked up Ace Combat 4 : Shattered Skies.. right there and then i fell in love with the Ace Combat series.

However i don't consider myself a gamer until i got into the Roller Coaster Tycoon games, and my first big FPS game, Battlefield 2.

since then gaming has become a constant relevant entertainment.

Zelda oot and starfox 64. You think after 13 years playing the same levels over and over again would diminish the fun factor but it hasnt.

Too much to remember. Keystone Kapers, Mario Bros and a load of other Atari games. After that Super Mario World and Sid Meier's Pirates! on C64 for sure.

My very first system was the NES and the first console game I played was Super Mario Bros. I also played arcade games at a local pizza parlor (my favorite was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). These two things cemented video games in my lifestyle. There was a time during college that I stopped playing console games, but when I got cancer in 2007, I asked my parents for a Playstation 2 to play when I was stuck inside on weekends after chemo. That re-cemented gaming in my life, and I'm still very much into it now. I dunno how I survived those couple of years without games.

VIDEO GAMES ARE FREAKIN' AWESOME!!! :)

I've had a Pong machine,a Nes, and an intellivisionbut I never considered myself much of a gamer. That all changed when I set my eyes on Street Fighter 2 on the Snes. Been playing games on the regular ever since. So it was Street Fighter 2.

Zelda II got me started with Nintendo. I had a Sega Genesis later but it didn't offer any exceptional games, my opinion of course. Fell out of gaming for a while. Zelda a link to the past got me back into the games, was the only game I had and the only one worth playing. After a long absence I was drawn back in by PC games. Such as Command & Conquer, Doom,Blood, Duke3D.Resident Evil for PS1 is what drew me back to consoles for a while.

I started on Home Pong and it was fun because it was like playing table tennis on the televisin.

as things that were more like consoles came out gaming became more fun and a more diverting past time.

a lot of NES games were fun to play

but I did not really become immersed until SNES and I discovered RPGs and The Secret of Evermore.

When I was about 5 years old (back in 1985), my parents would take me to their friend's place every Saturday night so they could play board games, and they'd sit me in front of the tv with an Atari 2600 & Intellivision, and I'd play random games for hours. That's how my love started for video games. But, I'd say that playing computer games at my friend's house was what truly made me a gamer for life. I remember playing games like "Spy vs Spy", "Caveman Games", and "Leisure Suit Larry". Those were some of the games that made me truly obsessed about video games, an obsession that still exists with in me to this day. I remember getting my Sega Mastersystem & then a NES, man those were the good old days.

Space Invaders is what got me into gaming on the Atari 2600. I don't know why my parents bought me it...it was a huge mistake.

What made me a hardcore gaming nutjob: Phantasy Star Online. Bad grades in high school, and a destroyed social life. I still haven't recovered.

When I was 1 back in 1991, I got to play my first game. I picked up an NES controller and played some good ol' classic Super Mario Bros. Then I learned how to use the Zapper and played Duck Hunt. Over time, I just played other NES games, then shortly after, we got our first SNES and dad would rent Street Fighter II. That's what got me into fighting games, aside from when my uncle would bring over his Sega Genesis and the first Mortal Kombat. When I was 2-3, I played Legend of Zelda and Zelda II for the first time at my Grandma's. Then when I was 4, I got into A Link to the Past, Sonic the Hedgehog, Road Rash, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Desert Strike, and several others.

I originally played Super Mario Bros on the SNES and some other games for that console, what really got me into gaming for good was Super Mario 64 and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire for the N64

I played games like Duck Hunt, Doom, Doom II, Wolf 3D, Super Mario World, Street Fighter II, Killer Instinct and some other stuff as a kid periodically. But then I got my hands on Super Mario 64, and that game basically began my future as a gamer. Then in 2001 things took an unexpected turn when as a 12 year old boy I played Halo for the first time. Basically those two games pretty much defined my general tastes in games: Mario 64 and Halo. Not bad places to start, I'd say. :P

Tomb Raider 2 then more importantly Resident Evil 2, possibly Vagrant Story aswell. Bought a second hand PS1 with some paycheck, there was no going back after that. :p

Before RE2 I didn't really consider games advanced enough to be worthwhile, though that was definately incorrect.

First ever game I played was Doom, Then shortly afterwards I got my hands on a Nintendo with Super mario bros 1 and 3, Little Nemo: the Dream master, Battletoads, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Blastermaster. My friend for about 21 years now had gotten himself a Sega Genisis some time after that and we played Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and eventually 3 around then. Then the ball started to roll, including a Macintosh computer, Windows 95 and Playstation and by then I was hooked.

For me it was Super Mario Bros on the NES that first introduced me to gaming, a mix of Star Control 3 and MK3 that consolidated my interest and then GTAIII that really, really got me into gaming. All in all it took a decade for me to really get into gaming.

Great game. I can't believe it was Freeware when it came out. It was a top-notch platformer. But then I guess platformers were never all that big on PC, maybe that's why.

The funny thing is that its made by Id Software, the guys who did DOOM and Quake.

Sonic The Hedgehog was my first game, and I was immediately hooked.
