I started getting that message not long before my wireless router crapped out on me. But I was having random disconnect problems on my wireless throughout the house, not just the PS3. Then one day the wireless died completely. In my experience that message means your PS3 wireless is working, but it cannot find a local network in your house. There could be a chance maybe the media server is interfering if you have that enabled? I would look into turning off your PS3 media server settings. If that's not the problem maybe try experimenting and see if other devices are able to connect WIRELESSLY. When my wireless router failed, I could still connect via a hard-line ethernet cable. But the wireless signal was dead.2Chalupas

I did do that yesterday, turn off the media server setting and i was able to stay logged on. I ll keep it that way and hope it works out but yeah i never had this problem before and the fact that it can happen at any second or not at all is beyond annoying! The access point is your router, so you receiving error messages means your PS3 is having a hard time connecting to and/or maintaining a stable connection with your router. This could be the result of several problems, most likely of which are either weak signal strength or a problem with the router itself. I'd recommend checking your signal strength next time on the PS3 (look under Network Settings). If it's anything less than 80% or so I'd try moving it closer to the PS3 if possible. If that isn't the issue, you may have to play around with some settings on your router. For that I can't really help you with as each router has different settings and features, so you'll have to search for those answers elsewhere. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Thank you u have been helpful, i have checked the signal strength and its always at 100% which is so annoying as then im wondering what the problem could be. Also had my local cable company come over and fixed a connection problem so the signal strength problem of past has been fixed and im still getting this. Im no genius when it comes to this so if it keeps happening i think i will directly plug the internet cord to the ps3. I now know that the access point is the router so thanks again and also awesome breaking bad banner...love the show, seen every episode.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has any idea how to fix getting disconnected from psn. Theres times where Im playing and are not getting signed out yet theres times where I get logged off and I get the message "You have been disconnected from access point" and cant sign back on yet Im still connected to the internet with a wired connection on my laptop. Could it be my router? This is so annoying and any help would be greatly appreciatted...thank you in advance.

I thought with Gearbox being involved it could be decent but wow i didnt expect it to be this bad. Borderlands was a fun game so I thought they would have done a better job. I want to know more about how involved Gearbox was with making Duke Nukem like did they just borrow 3d Realms ideas or did they do any of their own work?

My recommendation would be to run Folding@Home while the games are DLing in the background. There is a setting on Folding@Home to have it turn off automatically, at your own preference of course. It's truly a no-brainer plus you get to contribute to medical research for a good cause! To run Folding@Home you need to access "Life at Playstation" & go from there. I hope this helps!
