Bought "Dreamfall Chapters" to play together with my daughter (we loved "The longest journey"), and it delivers on every level.
Hearing so much praise for "Tales from the Borderlands", i'll soon have to take a closer look at that. Slightly reluctant as i've never played the "Borderlands" games, and worry a bit if that's needed to get the most out of "Tales".
Still holding back on "Fallout 4", i'm just not convinced.
@glassesboy Nothing to disagree with there. Only difference is i stopped after AC1 already.
People seem to forget that 8 is a good score, a "great" score even by GS' own standards.
KvO's reviews usually sit well with me (including ESO), others may have other favorite reviewers because they are closer to their own taste.
Watch Dogs does look interesting and fun. I will wait for a "complete edition" (hopefully within a year) and also need to see what reception the PC version gets.
@trueepower44 I'm not critical of MMOs in general, i consider myself a MMO player.
I also don't mind subscription based MMOs at all. That's that outta the way.
Better quests with voice over ? The Secret World
Overall better questing ? ESO is par for the course here imo, no worse or better than other MMOs i've played, but the bland characters do my head in.
Those NPC have no edge to them, no character, no individuality...they're totally interchangable.
I'm not much of a PvPer in MMOs, but how can you enjoy PvP when you know of the item duplicating exploit ?
There're PvPers sitting on millions of gold. They'll have gear that you'll never be able to afford. The ingame economy is all but ruined, and it will take a long time to clean that mess up....if it's even possible.
And while one shouldn't answer a question with a counter question, what's so special about the character customization in ESO ?
Btw, i don't think that GW2 is better than ESO either, but that's not what we're discussing here, right ?
It's not about the 15$, i've always defended ESO's subscription model.
Oh, one more thing...crafting. I like the system, but how do you gather ressources when ghosting bots farm every node before you even get your pick out ?
@trueepower44 "Inaccurate Horrible review" is perhaps a bit harsh, allthough i wouldn't have expected a 6.0 either.
That said, he didn't even get into the whole item duping topic. The games economy is basically tainted already and as a consequence of that so is the PvP.
Many ESO players are seriously asking for a complete reroll and gold wipe.
Add to that the fact that people could hack the client with ancient hack tools to achieve limitless life, magicka, stamina and regens.
Goldseller spamming in chat is absolutely rampant, to name another issue KvO hasn't even gone into.
On their MMO debut, Zenimax made many of the basic mistakes other publishers have learned many years ago to avoid.
For me personally the major letdown is this though:
"Wooden dialogue and repetitive voice-overs can make questing a chore"
At level 12 i find myself just clicking through the dialogues and not even bother with the stories anymore. For a guy who's main activity is questing, that's a game breaker.
I've played non-voiceover games that had more interesting and unique characters, it sure is a far shot from what TSW managed when it comes to breathing life into your NPCs.
I know that many things will be fixed and patched, that's not the point, He reviewed the game as is, and that's what any reviewer ever SHOULD do.
