I assume they will only announce a couple or few more characters by the time of release.

This game was shaping up to be something that could've been considered the best or one of the best DB games, but I can't even put it in the top 5 if it only has around 22 characters and they make you pay the price of a videogame just to go to 30 characters.

These days a 2D fighter should be able to churn out 40-50 characters before DLC and still be high quality, and DBZ is one of the series that demand a huge roster to be successful. Along with Koei's Musou games like Dynasty Warriors, it always flaunts some of the biggest rosters ever and leaves many empty if they don't even get close.

@paulsgranny: There are tons of local multiplayer Steam games that are pretty popular. For example, Gang Beasts does 8 players, Brawlhalla is 4p and is a Smash Bros 'clone,' Castle Crashers is 4p and was the #1 most popular beat-em-up game some years ago. Those are just a few of the many Steam games.

On top of this, every single retro game as old as Atari and as new as PS2, Dreamcast, Wii U, etc all are played on PC and commonly need more than one controller.

On top of that, Xbox 360/One can partially be played on Win 8/10. Microsoft said from now on every 1st party Xbox game is now not exclusive and can be played on PC too (main reason why Xbox no longer has any exclusives really). So if you play "Xbox games" on PC, the console uses more than 1 controller.

@casshan01: But a lot of gamers would agree to this because it really isn't an in-between system. If you want the 3DS XL, you can now choose to take out the "stupid 3D gimmick" and save money. Before the 2DS was a downgrade but now it isn't, it's a better option lol.

and you cry about never being up to date and saying it is a fail move, but PC does this x100 and outperforms and outsells any other computing device, and is the best gaming device.

and lastly, the Switch may go the same route, but it is still a wayy better idea than both the Wii/Wii U and none of it's ideas are gimmicks like focusing on motion remotes was and 3D is. and it is the successor to the 3DS really and that system can be a top seller with just Pokemon being on it.

@pork7: If you are going by sales when the systems were the latest gen at the time, then the SNES and first Wii also won in their gens. If you are going by just the positive reception of "true gamers," or even the amount of top selling games, then the SNES at least won. Also a handheld console is still a console, you're thinking of "home console" vs handheld console.

People keep saying the switch is a hybrid but it isn't, that is just the incorrect advertisement to fool people. It is a mobile class device that uses a top-end mobile GPU, so it's just a handheld system. Almost any mobile device can be docked/streamed to a bigger screen, that doesn't make it a home console or hybrid, or then every tablet, laptop and phone is hybrid. It's truly a successor to the 3DS/2DS even though they won't admit it.

@Rushaoz: That's not true. Resolution only means visual pixel count, not true in-game graphics. If your screen cannot view over 720p-1440p, then you can't possibly ever see the extra pixels from 4k or 8k, you're still only seeing 720p-1440p which means what you're seeing is possible without even 4k.

If an 8k game looks better on your 1080p screen then the 1080p version looks on your 1080p screen, then they did something wrong, or they did something else to enhance the actual polygon-count or texture graphics, and it is not related to 8k resolution.

@Prismet: In addition to the other comment, they can also be used in other games like some can be used in Smash Bros.

@syntaxkt: Nowadays they need exclusives to do well more-so than 3rd party games, or else they are all just worse PCs with nothing special to play when other consoles also have them too in addition to their exclusives. It is hurting Xbox right now because they only mainly have Halo and Forza as top selling exclusives, while PS has Gran Turismo, Last of us, Uncharted, God of War, LittleBigPlanet, etc. And now even the exclusives Xbox has are 100% all released on Windows 10, so it almost has 0 now.

Also in the case of the Switch, it really is a successor to 3DS, not a home console like Wii, Wii U, Xbox, PS, etc. so it has the fact that it is a handheld console to keep it afloat. DS/3DS does better than most consoles and it only needed Pokemon to do that.

For me, as long as it has Smash Bros, I will buy it. As long as PS has Gran Turismo, I will buy it. As long as Xbox has my fav controller outside of the superior (but too expensive) Joycons, I will buy it or buy them for Xbox/Steam on my PC which I consider my primary gaming device.

@golden1elite: I agree, but as an IT guy I like to argue every time someone keeps saying the Switch is old technology because it isn't Xbox Scorpio level. For a tablet device, it uses the Tegra X1 which even at the time I'm writing this is still rated #2 on most top-most-powerful lists in power for mobile/tablet GPUs, next to an Apple GPU that they could never use. It has 1 TFLOP of power which is almost Xbox One level.

Then the Tegra X2 will eventually come out and replace it as the new #1 most powerful- and who knows if updated Switch devices will come out using it?

@supamastergamer: For PC you need to buy a USB cable since this one does not come with one.

If you want to use these controllers wirelessly, you need AA batteries, or the Play and Charge pack which comes with the USB cable and a rechargeable battery back for the controller. Also for your PC you need it to have Bluetooth with Win 10 or a wireless adapter/dongle because they only work wirelessly on Xbox One/Win10-Bluetooth without an adapter.

@atommx: The Switch has almost the power of an Xbox One at 1 tflop, granted that is only when docked but most tablets don't get even close. The switch has a real graphics card (Nvidia Tegra X1) which is one of the fastest tablet GPUs out, most of the time ranked #2 in mobile GPUs. So idk where people get this "it is old tech" crap when it tops almost every other mobile GPU in benchmarks. and when Tegra X2 comes out, it will probably end up moving to it in time.

Also tablets are bigger and can have a bigger battery. Lastly, the 3DS has about the same battery life and everyone loves it, and the Switch can still beat that by being docked for infinite life. and who says you won't be able to buy a battery pack to put on the back to more than double its life like phones and tablets have?
