Not a good sign, not at all... This is what happens when you push dev time lines to the very min.. (The old "it could be done by Nov, well then i want it out in Sep" BS.)
I know very well what it is.. My OP was aimed more to the conceptual side of the issue. Much like i said up ^ there. Yes, it does have it's uses, but outside of those uses, it's not very practical nor preferable.
I think you need to read up on the concepts of speculative prediction and marketing hype. I don't doubt the prevalence (current and future) of the tech in many things. But you're severely under and over estimating the issues to, and ability of cloud tech ever being able to even mostly, let alone completely, take over the role as primary hardware source in all but a few situations. For one thing.. No net, no games, no computer etc. Slow or messed up net, and you're almost just as ****ed. And let's not even get started on the issues surrounding ownership and privacy for all of your data and files saved on it. It's a pipe dream at best... a meaningless marketing slogan at worst.

No ****ing way! I'd like to keep and own my hardware thank you. And i'm sure a lot of other people do as well. It's bad enough that forces in parts of the software industry are already attempting to subtly (and not so subtly) force us to swallow that crap.
I have a lot of respect for Kojima,.. But i don't agree with him on this.
