This game could have seriously had the potential to be an awesome title, but Turbine is handling it. I have played every Turbine title I could tolerate and every single one is wooden and archaic at best, and nauseating tripe at the worst. Just picking one flaw that is present in every game: UI. In every title the UI is hands down the worst I have seen in a game, and when you're playing an MMO... UI is *kind of* important.
@Gelugon_baat Still, the reviewer should have emphasized the value of the game. I wouldn't have known anything these comments mentioned otherwise, aside from the low price (I just happened to look at it on Steam and had no idea what it was).
Believe me, I want to play Titanfall. I love online competitive FPS when done right, and this game looks to liven things up enough to surpass its predecessors (Battlefield and Call of Duty). Frankly I am just not enthused enough to drop that much dough on a console. I like consoles and all but I just don't play them -- I own a PS3 with a handful of great titles that I haven't even opened yet! And a Wii to match!
To spend hundreds of dollars on something that can't pull me away from my PC for more than a night at a time is irresponsible. I just don't have to time to balance PC gaming and console gaming while I'm working a full-time job with 10-hour shifts.
I'd rather spend $1k-2k on a BEAST gaming rig that I know I'll be using (my second "job" involves using my PC) than half/quarter that on hardware that will collect dust. Speaking of, I need to clean my PS3 before I can use it again. The dust buildup is making DVD/BD playback a pain.
Every time I watch one of these I think, "Making crack is bad." :P
My sympathies, Danny... I'd have probably lost all sanity on the third episode. I really hope you never have to put up with one of these, EVER AGAIN. I can't wait to see you play a real video game, I'm so thrilled about it. :)
