New release date: vague "fiscal year 2010"

"The level of excitement for Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 coming out of E3 well exceeded our expectations and therefore we have decided to move Raven's upcoming sci-fi first person action title, Singularity, from 2009 to Q1 2010. We believe that the March quarter will provide a better opportunity to establish the new cutting-edge action IP as a "must-have" title and clears the way for Modern Warfare 2 to dominate this holiday season."

Both GameFly and GameStop are listing the title for release during the month of January 2010.
A Sony Computer Entertainment spokesperson said "We haven't made any announcements in regards to the launch date, the retailers are just speculating."


What games are next? If you are trying to release a FSP title around the same time as Modern Warfare 2 as competition you are going to get crushed. I think it is very smart to delay a game that is in the same release window of MW2. The only other big FPS title is Flashpoint 2. We will see what happens.

Modern/Military/FPS's are by far my favorite genre in gaming. I loved the Ghost Recon and Rainbow six series until UBI took the games over and made them more of an arcade game then tactical. Hopefully they will eventually go back to there roots. Here is a list of upcoming modern/military/fps's to keep an eye on.
