SPD_WeBmAsTaH: Your 360 RROD'd three times and you got annoyed?

I'm on my fifth. And this one's got issues with the DVD drive, and is probably about to fail.

I mean I love my 360 for a lot of reasons but the reliability of the hardware is not one of them.

If this is real, then it is truly one of the best things ever.

And even if it's not, it's God**** entertaining.

[QUOTE="aaron6581230"]technically, wouldn't developers lose earnings as they are giving away the games for free?GerrywithaG15

Well, SCEA is already losing a ton of money on each console sold - at least a pack-in might help them sell more units and by extension more games/accessories.

But I still think the main thing Sony needs more of is new (exclusive) games. That ought to sell more PS3s.

it used to be "a ton", but sonys adapted and is almost at the point of selling ps3s at a profit

I don't see why you and nerdman60 are on me about this, with your line telling me to "stop living in 2006."

It's hardly unusual for a company to lose money on each console sold - in fact, it's pretty much been considered standard practice for a long time. It makes good hardware available to the average consumer and allows the company to move games and accessories, where most of the money is. A company selling current-gen consoles at a profit is a company that needs to consider a price drop, unless their attach rate sucks (i.e. Nintendo).

I was only pointing out that since consoles are generally sold at a loss anyway, adding a pack-in wouldn't be financially unfeasible.

Mass Effect is great. If you don't like it, it's just not your kind of game.

Trickshot771

Exactly. I think this thread is a bit like getting halfway through War and Peace before discovering that you actually only like reading Superman comics and then claiming that the book is terrible.

I mean the game is not physically thicker, but the fact that it is
1.) a Western ****RPG
2.) a space opera and
3.) from Bioware
should have been just as clear an indication of what you were getting, and if you know that isn't your **** you shouldn't be buying those games.

Also: GS censors the word "S-T-Y-L-E"? lolwut?

Just don't do what I did and spend a lot of money on a Creative X-Fi only to discover that it's utterly useless when you boot Linux.

Why are you throwing out $200+ on a dual core? Quad Cores are the future. An AMD Phenom is only $189 while a Q6600 goes for around $250. Any quad core is better then a dual core.nVidiaGaMer

What?

I'm pretty sure there's not really a compelling reason to get a quad-core any time in the near future. Nothing utilizes four cores yet, and nothing will for a while yet. If you're running a server or doing a whole lot of multitasking it might be worth it, but right now they're just not necessary.
