I recognise this haha. I used to play BFBC2 on the PS3 and decided later when I had upgraded my PC that I wanted to try out BFBC2 on the PC. What a difference. On the PS3 I could easily remain a steady score-per-min/win-loss/KD ratio but when I started playing on the PC I got slaughtered like no tomorrow. And I'm a PC gamer by heart, so to speak. I guess it just really, REALLY makes a difference if every player can react as fast as they want. Feels like a different more gritty game like that hehe

In order of my expectations:

  1. Uncharted 3
  2. Skyrim
  3. Battlefield 3
  4. Batman: Arkham City
  5. Assassin's Creed: Revalations
  6. Portal 2
  7. RAGE
  8. Mortal Kombat
  9. Dead Island
  10. MW3
  11. Gears of War 3

Hard to say, however, since9 of those games haven't been released yet.

I agree with this. Not sure about MW3 though, think it has a way higher chance of becoming GOTY since it's ridiculously popular.

Yes I have it in general with RTS games. Usually if it's an RTS game I'll pass... Well not too long ago after having played way too many hours of Mount and Blade Warband I decided to try out a popular RTS game like the Total War Series... after that I basically had a short period of RTS addiction haha, played civilization 4/5, Galactic Civilizations and Medieval 2 total war/ Shogun 2 and loved every minute of it. Just one more turn...

[QUOTE="Wasdie"]

Arena shooters are dead. They just arn't popular. Simple as that.

Raxzor

This. The thought of running around the same circular map, mindlessly shooting another player to death doesn't appeal to me any more. And Carmack knows this to.

So I guess you don't play any MP DM-like games? For as far as I know, all the shooters I play online are the same ordeal.

This business model is almost guaranteed to have disastrous results later on when the 'net neutrality' we all enjoy now is going down. Which won't take too long from now on, me thinks. It's such a ridiculous concept but it rings so true for the profit-minded society that we live in today.

Here's a very interesting article about the possible future of the internet: http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2009/09/fcc-neutrality-mistake/

COD is one of the best series's in the gaming world today, the reason a heap of people hate it, is because it is too popular, if COD was one of those "under the radar" games players would praise this game, but as always, when a game becomes incredibly popular, it gains a lot more hate, the next game in the series expected to be the best game of the year like the rest of them, COD became the "Best selling FPS game of all time" for a reason, I've hate BF ever since it came out, oh i'm gonna get so much hate for this ;/JustisZone

Since when does popularity equal quality? Tell me, since eg justin bieber is being devoured by the masses, does that make him a skillful artist? Please....

I've stopped playing COD after having played COD4 for some time and also played Blops for a short period. Feels a bit hollow to me, run around hoping to get kills.. run around... run around... oh wait run around. Basically all MP shooters are like this sure, that's why I like teambased games like BF en Team fortress more. Adds a little bit more variety.

Lol that's hilarious xD. That's for you and you alone to decide if it's more fun. It's not a general consensus.

I can't agree that the looks are similar. It's obvious they are going for realism, noticable in the animations and lighting they use combined with the color palette. Nope I have a hard time seeing the similarities, even the surroundings are completely different.

I think claptraps are incredibly annoying.

ClapTraps were an essential part of Borderlands. QQ

But to each his/her own.

commonfate

Why call that QQ? He's stating his opinion.

Mount & Blade Warband for sure. The game hasn't been very well known unfortunately and when I tried it I was a bit skeptical. Until I struck down my first enemy haha, at that moment I was like "omfg this game has some amazing combat" and after that I easily played it for about 130 hours non stop lol. The feeling of being your own captain of your army ready to charge in battle really doesn't wear off quickly. It's a one-of-a-kind game.
